Tauer Perfumes – L’air du desert marocain

The first of many reviews from my latest luckyscent sample venture: I thought I’d start by simply picking the first one to come out of the package.
Immediately it is bracing, head clearing, herbal. Vetiver, but it has a sense of eucalyptus or clary sage. Close behind is the Vanilla/ambergris, unmistakeable and beautiful. I don’t sense the lemon at all. Subtle, but powerful nonetheless. It really stayed with me throughout the day. I am very impressed with the juxtaposition of ‘dry’ and ’sweet’. The patchouli is there but mercifully does not predominate. If you are a more natural type, not try-hard sexy…definitely indulge in a sample if not an entire bottle. Men I think will also love this scent (on others and on themselves). It is not incredibly evocative of the desert or the middle east but then again I have not been to Morocco, so perhaps I don’t know what the reference is.
$80 for 50 ml at Luckyscent.
the scoop
‘Imagine finding peace in a room, lying on the bed, exhausted from the heat of the day, with the window open, letting the cool air in which still is very dry and filled with the scents from the near desert and overlayed with the spicy scents of the streets below.’ – Andy Taeur
L’Air du Desert Marocain is the scent of desire, inspired by the fragrant world of the Maghreb desert, powerful, sensual and pure. It’s a dry, resinous cedar scent, rounded out with rock rose and jasmine, and hints of typical Moroccan spices such as coriander, cumin and petitgrain. A unisex scent, the cedar and vetiver base notes hover over a fine amber background. We are in love with this exotic beauty by Swiss perfumer Andy Tauer.
L’Air du desert marocain notes
Coriander, Petitgrain (Bitter orange), Lemon, Bergamot, Jasmin, Cistus, Bourbon, Geranium, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Vanille, Patchouli and Ambergris
