The Fashion Show: Johnny Design Scandal!

Wow. Just W-O-W. Last night on The Fashion Show, Johnny was eliminated. Because of a bad design? Oh no…because he ripped off Lanvin (yes, THAT Lanvin!) with his homage to the dress Maggie Gyllenhaal wore to the 2009 Golden Globes. I thought Reco’s design was abysmal, so it’s too bad that lack of originality and personal flare is what brought Johnny down.

What do you think? Was Issac on the mark with this one? I think it’s safe to say you couldn’t get much less original…especially with the belt and the fabric choice. The hemline though – blech. Johnny should have stuck with the floor length sillouette instead.

The Fashion Show airs at 10pm ET/PT each Thursday on Bravo and don’t forget – after each episode, check out Tresemme’s Style Seeker for hair style tips and don’t forget that the winning design is available for purchase on BravoTV.com!

He should have just gone with a different print fabric. The draping of the dress and hemline are different enough that in a solid color, I wouldn’t have considered this a ripoff.

That said, I hate the Lanvin dress… he should have picked something better to copy :)
