The Sweet Scent of New Year’s Resolutions!

Geez, this year has gone F-A-S-T.  I’ve been so busy what with my new job, grad school, my etsy shop, and buying a house!  I love using 43things to keep track of my goals and one of them was to make 2007 the best year of my life (so far). I’d have to say that I totally did that.  Anyway, I saw Teri’s post and I thought some blog-related resolutions (and some miscellaneous fun) might be in order.  So,  without further ado……

1) Purchase at least 5 new samples, every month,  from Luckyscent.   I’m pretty picky, and when you smell as many scents as I do, it takes a LOT to be, as they say, Full Bottle Worthy (FBW).

2) Donate 10 items to the women’s shelter or other charity.  I get a fair amount of unsolicited products to review.  I do my best to try them all and let you know about the ones that are worth your money.  Even so, I end up with way more stuff than I could ever use up, unless I ran an orphanarium or something.   A lot of it goes to friends, family, coworkers, neighbors,  and others who are truly grateful.  But I hope that it’s a small gesture and can in some way eliminate even a tiny bit of the incredible pain that domestic abuse generates.

3) Learn more about natural, environmentally friendly, and organic products.  I know, it’s all trendy now to be “green”.  But for a damn good reason – if we don’t get with it and start thinking about how and what we consume,  sooner or later we may really screw things up.  I live a fairly environmentally friendly life as it is.  But I don’t think for a minute that I’ve done enough, and I don’t get smug just because I ride the bus to work (it still uses gas) or put a compact fluorescent lightbulb on my porch.

Hm…that’s really a tall order right there.  If I come up with more, I’ll be sure to post an addendum!
