I have recently come to realize that, despite my obvious style acumen, there is an obvious gaping hole in my wardrobe. No, it isn’t some must have fall gladiator bootie, it’s the basics. You know, the crisp white shirt, the sleek pencil skirt, the perfect LBD. I have been so focused on accumulating one-of-a-kind statement pieces that I have almost completely overlooked these essential items.

Don’t get me wrong, I do have one LBD, but it’s so L that it just isn’t that versatile. In my quest to fill this gaping hole in my own wardrobe, I’ve come across three LBDs that are timeless classics, and even better, totally on sale.

This striated silk wrap detail dress will be the perfect go-to staple for a lot of occasions, from dinner out to a night at the opera. The sheath shape is universally flattering, and the pleating and bow detail at the waist bring attention to the narrowest part of your body.

This silk georgette ruffle front dress is feminine and romantic. The asymmetric neckline adds a little edgy interest to the bust. This dress, by the way is navy, not black, which makes it a LND instead of an LBD, but it’s equally versatile.

This short silk cotton dress is so classic. The a-line shape is great for every body, and the gorgeous sheen on the fabric makes it a must have for many events. You could dress it up with heels and pearls, or dress it down with some preppy flats. Either way, it’s simple and perfect.
