Trend Alert: The Dress/Skirt Option

I know you’ve seen it if you’ve recently been shopping. The convertible dress. The label shows, “multiple uses! Wear it as a dress and a skirt!” But ultimately, it is your decision. Are you the girl that is s seen wearing the cute strapless dress one day and a week later wearing a skirt of the same material the next?

Lapis Girl A097 Dress
I haven’t quite decided. Oh wait, yes I have. I am that girl. See, the thing is, this Lapis Girl 097 dress has been stalking me. I covet luxury items, I dream about luxury items, so when I finally buckle down and buy one it’s a serious affair.
So, this Lapis dress was at Sak’s Off Fifth a few months ago. Then, it moved it’s way down to Nordstrom’s the Rack. And finally, today, while I was waiting for some film to develop at nearby pharmacy, I ran into Marshall’s. There is was. The dress. And that was it. It was decided. The dress would be mine. And not for the listed price at Sak’s Off Fifth, but for the bargain price of $20 at Marshall’s. It was mine.

The Dress Option
And I will wear it to death. I will wear it to work with a swear over it. I will wear it with a white or black top to work or out on the town and I will, for sure be wearing it was a cover up at the river/lake/beach this summer. It’s a win win for me.
The thing is, though, you have to accessorize and do things well with this look. I just snapped a few quick photos with this just to show that the dress can be worn several different ways without regard to that..so the look is not complete. With the dress/skirt fully accessorized this will be an awesome look.
But, again, it is your decision. Are you that girl that only wears something once? Or are you the girl that makes decisions based on how many times she’s going to wear the item?

oh my goodness I just got the same dress at TJ Maxx today and I am so super pleased with it! I just had to get online to find out how something so lovely and perfect ended up in my cart at The Maxx!!! I too will be wearing this dress many times and in many ways!
Thanks!
I have been looking at the conertible dress for a while. I have been looking all over the net and comparing prices. Then, today, I walked into TJMaxx and I saw this beautiful solid, dusky blue material…I reached out to take it off the rack and….bang!…It was the Lapis Girl Convertible Dress! The first thing I picked up! It made my day, but I only found one…I wish I could find it every primary color. I’m mainly going to use it when I travel, unless I find it in more colors..LOL.
I got the black with the white floweres. I love it!!! I got mine at Dillards. They had peach, violet, and black on white. Really beautiful. I’m tempted to go back for another.
I also just bought this skirt at TJ Maxx. Awesome deal!! I got the peach one. But…how do you clean it??!! It did not come with a cleaning label so I am stumped. Please help!!
I was stumped about this as well, so I just followed my old stand by…machine wash cold with light colors and air dry. It hasn’t shrunk it hasn’t faded and it hasn’t lost it’s elasticity either.
I was first smitten by the Peach Lapis Girl Convertible dress (at Stein Mart). I loved it so much that I purchased a Yellow/Green/Peach multi. one, then a teal one, and a Green/Purple one, and a Mint Green one, and, a Brown/Teal one! I am thrilled to have them all and want more! The fabrics are uniquely beautiful-I feel like a work of art when I wear them. I have worn them to work (with little sweaters), for special occasions, and just because I want to feel pretty. I love them! I feel like a mermaid when I am wearing one.

Lapisgirls convertible line is great. They also have the knee length. I love their convertibles that can be worn in at least seven ways. Right now I own about 16 Lapis pieces and always looking for more. Living in Florida and traveling a lot they are truly convenient.
