What is TRIA Beauty personal laser hair removal system?

The science behind TRIA Laser is :

based on the principle of selective photothermolysis: gentle beams of laser energy are absorbed by the dark pigment in the hair follicle and converted into thermal energy, disabling the hair follicle and causing the hair to gradually fall out. Because hair grows at 3 different stages—anagen (“active”), catagen (“transitional”) and telogen (“resting”)—repeat treatments are needed every four weeks for six to eight treatments to reach all the hair follicles at the ideal (anagen) stage when the follicle has a high degree of melanin.

TRIA Personal Laser Hair Removal System includes 3 energy levels. Once applied on the skin, the laser will emit a single pulse which targets multiple hair follicles in half-second intervals. When it’s time to move to the next area, the laser releases a short beep. The time to treat an area depends on how big the area of the skin is.

The system should be used every 4 weeks, and 6 to 8 treatments per area in order to get a long lasting hair reduction results which also gives you the soft, smooth and silky skin that you want. 2 weeks is how long it takes to see good results.

At this time, TRIA Laser can not be used on face, head, ears or neck. There’s also information on the box of the system pertaining to skin tones. People with medium brown and dark brown/black skin tones can not use the system. These skin tones may absorb too much laser light which could cause skin damage. Light skin with tan should wait until after the tan fades before using TRIA Laser.
