I love big, roomy bags and I love bags that look interesting, like they’re ready to tell a story. So, while scouring the internet looking for designer fashion bags, I found this new designer fashion company called True Religion. Interesting name, right? Yes it is. I toured the site to see if I found anything I liked. Well, I looked and looked. Only a couple of things stand out to me:

This one I love because of the tassels that hang down. Love it also because of it’s material – - nice, fine suede and leather. Good solid materials that nice handbags are made of and are sure not to wear out too soon.
And this one:

Like the “slouchy” look this one has. Both purses would undoubtedly look great with wide-legged jeans:

and maybe a low-neck top:

OK, so now for the price. Although I love both of these bags, owning them would require maybe a second mortgage or no braces for the kids. Who needs straight teeth anyway?!
The slate blue bag is $898.00. WOW! And, the tassel bag is $648.00. WOW again! But, not so very bad considering the high quality in both of them. Since I’m just learning about True Religion fashions, I think I’ll keep my eye on them for a while and see how things go. I try to do that whenever a new brand of something comes out. Do you buy brands when they first hit the stores (or the internet) or do you wait and see? Also, does the name of the brand affect your buying decision? For instance, I’m wondering if the True Religion brand has anything to do with, say, religion? Just curious.
How do YOU brand shop?

True Religion has been around for quite awhile now. In fact, I believe the line started in 2002. The designer also designed Hippie Jeans, one of my favorites. I’ve been a diehard True Religion fan from the beginning, but their designs have taken a turn for the worse.
Basically, it’s hideous crap now. What was once cutting edge and great looking is now nothing more than mass produced, cheap garbage. It’s sad. I wear their jeans that I’ve bought in the past, but refuse to buy any of the new stuff. Everything just looks tacky now compared to what they used to design. It’s sad, because I wore them almost exclusively for years now, but I’ve been searching for a new brand for awhile.
They have a few stores in the LA area, though they aren’t known for providing the best service.
