What If Your Wedding Gown Doesn’t Fit?

Unless your wedding gown is custom made to your measurements, chances are it will not fit you exactly, even if it was special ordered. Why? Because most women are more than one size. You might be one size on top, and a slightly (or drastically) different size on the bottom. Some brides are short, others are tall. Some have a longer body and shorter legs, or longer legs, and a shorter body.

When your dress comes in find a reliable tailor to alter your dress to fit your shape. Sometimes the bridal shop where you purchase your dress has a great seamstress on location, and sometimes they can recommend someone. You should also check with friends and family to see who they know and trust if you don’t have a regular seamstress.

So don’t be too upset if your wedding gown doesn’t fit exactly right the first time you try it on. A seamstress can work wonders.  A little tuck here and there, and you’ll be picture perfect when you walk down the aisle.
