Will Your Hair Survive the Winter?

Mine barely has! Good thing I’m heading off to South Beach (and a super primo visit to the new Cutler Salon location there) – but if your hair needs a winter pick-me-up, here’s a few tips!

1. Don’t wash it every day. The dry air in your house is going to suck all the moisture out of it as it is.

2. Let your hair dry naturally. This is the time to pull out those gigantic rollers so that you don’t have to flat iron it either!

3. Wear a hat outside. That will help prevent the wind doing a number on your hair as well. Also will help prevent tangling.

4. Moisturize or even better… use a leave in. Your hair will love you for the extra attention.

5. In tip #3 I mentioned wearing a hat… which is good advice, but don’t use it as a crutch. Wearing a hat ALL WINTER LONG can contribute to overworked sebaceous glands and that means that you will simply have to wash your hair more often than necessary which will dry it out. Nasty…
