Carrie Underwood in white for the Superbowl

At this year’s Superbowl, we heard the national anthem courtesy of Carrie Underwood. Although she had a couple of rough notes, she did a great job overall and she looked fabulous too!

Carrie’s white pants and jacket were offset by a super sparkly silver top and white heels. Her cropped jacket was the Rock & Republic “Cary” style.

Unfortunately it’s not for sale online at the moment but if you’re lucky enough to live near the Rock & Republic store on Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles you can get it there. It retails for $298.

Lauren Conrad’s canary yellow coat

Lauren Conrad’s canary yellow coat

Despite her big sunglasses Lauren Conrad was definitely not trying to go incognito the other day when she was seen heading in to Good Morning America. There’s no hiding when you choose to wear a vivid canary yellow coat!

While I’m not really crazy about the big ruffled collar, but I love the overall style and the color. It practically screams spring and warm weather. With everything being so dreary where I live, this splash of color brightens everything up.

Miley Cyrus’ wavy ring

At the 2010 Grammy Awards singer and actress Miley Cyrus was looking fantastic in a beautiful but age appropriate long sleeved minidress. Just as notable as her dress, though, was her very funky ring.

Miley wore a couple of big rings but the one that caught my attention was the black and white ring with a bit of a wave motif going on.
I’m not sure I’d wear two large rings on one hand but there’s no denying that a single chunky ring is a really fun accessory to wear.

2010 Grammys: What were they thinking?

While it’s always nice to look back at the great fashion choices worn by celebrities at big events like the 2010 Grammy Awards, it’s hard to resist the “other dresses”. You know the ones. The ones where you scratch your head and wonder what the celebrity was thinking, and perhaps asking whether they even own a mirror.

For instance take Keri Hilson above. She’s extremely beautiful. Also, the dress is certainly not the worst one I’ve ever seen to hit a red carpet but you know, I just can’t look at it without thinking of the lampshades my grandmother used to …read more

Best 2010 Grammy Awards styles

There were some interesting style choices at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Some were amazing, some were terrible, and some fell in the middle of the road. Here I would like to share some of my favorite looks of the night.
I really liked Kristen Bell’s gown. It was pretty straightforward, nothing particularly daring or exciting, but it was just really nice and suited her. I approve!

Favorite Grammy look: Taylor Swift

There were a lot of beautiful dresses at the 2010 Grammy Awards tonight but I think I’ve come a decision as to my favorite look of the night: Taylor Swift.

Although she changed later in the night for her performance, Taylor hit the red carpet and accepted an award in a gorgeous blue sequined off-the-shoulder gown. It was designed by Dolce & Gabbana.
I’m partial to blue anyway, it’s my favorite color, but it’s such a beautiful dress. It matches the sparkle in her eyes and it walks the line between young and grown-up without falling too far onto either side.

Beyonce’s got the blues

Beyonce was recently spotted enjoying a date with her husband Jay-Z in Paris. She wore a head to toe black ensemble but then added a nice surprising splash of color by carrying an eye-catching blue handbag.

I love the bold color. Wearing black is an easy way to have a sophisticated or edgy look, but using an unexpected color breaks up the monotony.

Helen Mirren talks plastic surgery

It’s an unfortunate truth that when you talk about a celeb look it’s only partly about what that celebrity is wearing. It’s also about the way he or she – usually she – looks physically. There are many women in Hollywood who embrace plastic surgery to enhance the way they look. Some, like Heidi Montag go overboard and do multiple surgeries to completely change their appearance. Some, like Tara Reid regret their choice when they end up with a botched surgery (Tara is infamous for a terrible tummy tuck that left her scarred and uneven). Then of course, you get …read more

Diane Kruger at the SAG Awards

Diane Kruger at the SAG Awards

If you utter the phrase “mustard yellow dress” you might get blank stares at best, horrified looks of disgust at worst. But those people would be the ones who didn’t see Diane Kruger in, yes, a mustard yellow dress at the 2010 SAG Awards this past weekend. HELLO gorgeous!

It’s not a color I would ever imagine being attractive but I was clearly wrong. Diane looks absolutely beautiful in this dress and the color makes her stand out from the crowd.
Then again, I’m starting to suspect that Diane could wear a garbage bag as a dress and she’d still be stunning!

Drew Barrymore at the SAG Awards

Drew Barrymore at the SAG Awards

I am completely head over heels in love with Drew Barrymore’s blue strapless and ruffled gown that she wore to the 2010 SAG Awards this weekend.

Part of me feels like there should be something about this that I hate. The ruffle around the hips is huge and I feel like I shouldn’t like it at all. Yet for some reason I do. Maybe it’s the old-school Hollywood glamor combined with the pretty shade of blue. I also love the actual detailing in each ruffle. She looks like a Hollywood princess – which, of course, she is!
