Get Her Emmy Look: Katherine Heigl

Now that we all know how to pronounce her last name, maybe it is about time we learn how to look as radiant in red as Katherine Heigl did at the Emmy Awards. Katherine was all about the red lip, and not much else!

To start with you need a pretty a neutral face, so you will want to even out your skin as much as possible with your favorite concealer and foundation, and use just a bit of blush. For Katherine’s gentle cheek, we suggest DuWop’s Blushbooster ($22) in Apple which is a beautiful glowing rosey red color – looks almost like freshly pinched cheeks. For her eyes, you will first want to fill in the eye brow, then lightly line the upper rim of the lashes only with a smooth brown eye pencil. Clinique’s Quickliner for Eye’s ($14.50) in Shy Brown is beautiful, and will recreate the soft look seen here. For the eyes, just a two color look is in order. Laura Mercier makes a beautiful Eye Colour Duo ($22), and the palette to use here is named Bamboo, contains a shimmery taupey beige that should be used on the browbone and a golden brown shimmer that should be used all over the lid, concentrating in the crease. Complete the eyes with just one coat of brown mascara applying it only on the upper lashes to get the effect that Katherine is wearing. Stila’s Major Lash ($12.50) in Brown would be fitting. Moving onto the most important feature in Katherines look, the red lipstick, you will need a cream lipstick. Notice her lips are not matte nor glossy – just creamy.
