Katherine Heigl knows how to pull on a pair of flashy heels for a red carpet appearance, but she also knows how to rock the casual shoes when she’s out running errands.

While busting about with her mother, Katherine was spotted wearing jeans, a plain shirt, a simple shawl, and some very cute red running shoes.

The truth is, no matter how great good heels can make your legs look, it just makes more sense to go for comfort if you’re not in a situation where you need to dress up. Adding a little kick of color with this vibrant red more than makes up for being casual, believe me!

Kristin Cavallari is casual in Keds

Even though Kristin Cavallari was busy filming a scene for MTV’s hit show The Hills she still kept things casual while doing some shopping in Malibu.

Instead of getting carried away with dressing to the nines, Kristin wore a simple gray jersey minidress with a belt and rather than wearing heels she kept it comfortable with a pair of Keds running shoes in blue.

I love to look at the amazing high heeled shoes and boots that celebrities wear but from a more practical point of view I definitely love seeing that they can choose sensible shoes too. The best thing is that Keds give you a ton of great style too!

Olivia Wilde in nude platforms

Over the weekend, Olivia Wilde – well-known as “13″ on House – attended the red carpet premiere of Precious at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.

Olivia wore a beautiful and classy cream-colored dress that was beyond elegant. To set it off, she also wore a pair of nude platforms in patent leather and carried a clutch to match.

Olivia wore the Stuart Wietzman Stilts Sling platform heels, which are unfortunately not sold online, but I did find some similar shoes if you’d like the same shade in a beautiful pair of heels.

Hilary Swank’s “swanky” black heels

Hilary Swank was looking more like a Hollywood goddess than the lost pilot of her new film Amelia when she attended the 13th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala in Beverly Hills last night. She wore a black gown with gold detailing and sexy cut-outs on each side, looking stunning.

Half-hidden by her dress, Hilary wore some super hot black heels by Stuart Weitzman. Despite the late Fall season, in California it’s certainly possible to wear open-toe shoes.

Taylor Swift in Stuart Weitzman heels

Sometimes looking really good is the best revenge, isn’t it? Shrugging off Sunday night’s debacle with Kanye West, it’s pretty much indisputable that Taylor Swift looked gorgeous and poised as she checked out the Tommy Hilfiger show at New York Fashion Week.

Taylor wore a stunning, vibrant red mini-dress (she wore another red mini-dress to the VMAs, it’s a great color on her!) and stepped out in a pair of black Dorothy heels by Stuart Weitzman.

The Dorothy shoes feature a 4 1/2 inch heel and are made of satin. The slingbacks make them sexy, while the big bow on the top keep them adorable.

Although the biggest screams are still reserved for Robert Pattinson, make no mistake – Twilight fans love Taylor Lautner a whole lot too, and eyes are on him on a near-constant basis when he’s out on the town.

Not too long ago, Taylor headed out to a concert in Vancouver with the rest of the Twilight cast, and he was spotted in casual jeans and a t-shirt. On his feet were a pair of PF Flyer Albin low-top running shoes.

Rachel Bilson’s black and white slingbacks

Rachel Bilson was spotted being her usual cute and casual self, wearing a plaid shirt and cut-off jean shorts. While the outfit is nice enough, it’s nothing out of the ordinary, nor is it something you would need much help with – I mean, you know where to find jean shorts already, right?

What caught my eye though, was her black and white peep toe ballet flat slingbacks (whew, try saying THAT ten times fast). They’re still casual enough to pair them with that particular outfit, but they also have a certain classy style to them, something that Rachel is known for.

The shoes are made of leather with a brown strap and buckle across the top to add interest. Keds are popular shoes – even among celebrities! As recently as yesterday, Bryce Dallas Howard was spotted on her way to Vancouver to start filming in Eclipse, and she was sporting some purple Keds to keep her feet comfortable while she traveled.

Christina Ricci was in Italy for the 2009 Giffoni Film Festival, and she looked very fresh and pulled together in a loose white and gray dress paired with a great pair of heels.
