When I saw all the celebrities out on the red carpet for the American Music Awards I have to admit I was mostly underwhelmed. There were several “WOW, what were they thinking?!” outfits and at least a couple of dresses where I wondered if celebrities actually own mirrors (Jennifer Lopez I’m looking at you). However, for the most part, it seemed everyone kept it really safe and no one bowled me over with an amazing dress.

I think of all of them, Carrie Underwood looked the prettiest. Her dress wasn’t spectacular but it was nice enough, it suited her, and I like the way she did her hair.

Carrie wore a one-shoulder Theia cocktail dress in a peachy-gold shade. I’m never sure how I feel about belting a dress, but in this case I think Carrie’s belt adds a nice punch to the overall look. The rest of her pieces are all by Jimmy Choo.

Seriously though, she’s so incredibly pretty. I love when she wears her hair like this so we can see her beautiful face.

Carrie Underwood is pretty in paisley

When Carrie Underwood arrived at the studios to tape a visit for the Late Show with David Letterman , it wasn’t just her mega-watt smile that caught my attention.

Carrie was also wearing a very pretty top with a paisley print on it. I love the cream color and the design. Even though it’s metallic it isn’t overkill because the print really softens it up. Half the time I love what Carrie wears and half the time I’m wondering what she was thinking but in this case, I’m all over her top!

This particular top doesn’t have the same metallic shine as the one Carrie wore but it’s certainly just as pretty – and probably easier to wear if you’re not a celebrity and just want something nice to wear.

Carrie Underwood’s stylish warm vest

When Carrie Underwood was in New York City to visit The Late Show, she fended off the chill in the air by adding a cozy quilted vest to her jeans and shirt.

A vest is a nice option for in-between weather where you don’t really want to wear a full coat but it’s too cold to go completely without. It may not help your arms much, but if the weather’s not too bad a vest can actually be surprisingly warm.

Quilted vests are also very stylish right now so it’s a good time to pick one up for the remainder of the Fall weather.

Carrie wore a vest made by British designer Ted Baker but you can get one for a more reasonable price.

This Nike quilted vest is stuffed with goose down and will keep you nice and toasty when the temperatures start to dip. Yay or Nay: Carrie Underwood.

We will admit it. We are not young, and not nearly as young as Carrie Underwood. With that said, if we were young and had the sleek physique that Carrie has, we would not be hiding ourselves in this long, over flowing, strangely printed dress.

Ok, so the neckline was plunging, but overall, it was too matronly. Well, that is just our opinion and we want to know what you think.
