Hot or Not: Demi Lovato’s AMA dress

On Sunday, Demi Lovato hit the American Music Awards red carpet in a super cute little dress with a big, noticeable neckline.

Demi’s pink tiered cocktail dress was designed by Jenny Packham. It features a neckline that is heavily embellished with large crystals. The dress is from the Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection.

Now for the question! Hot or not? I’d love to hear your thoughts because I’m completely torn. On the one hand, the dress itself is super pretty and I like the soft pink color. That shade looks particularly good on Demi because of her dark hair, it makes a great contrast.

On the other hand, I am really not feeling the crystal neckline. It’s just too much. It’s such a delicate little cocktail dress that I find the big neckline overwhelms the whole look. Almost as though – if you can pardon my corny comparison – the neckline is screaming while the dress is just whispering. It doesn’t go together.

Jessica Szohr shops the holidays at LOFT

Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr made a stop at LOFT the other day to check out some of their holiday selection. LOFT had compiled 25 of their favorite items that best reflect the current fashion trends and called it the LOFT’s Love List. It looks like Jessica was pretty interested in some of the pieces that were chosen and spent some time trying them on.

Speaking of hats, I also really loved this bright pink knit beanie!

It also comes in navy blue but you know what? I don’t know about you but when it’s the dreary winter season I could use a little punch of color, so I’d definitely go with pink! You can get it over here, also for a very reasonable $24.50.

The other piece I really fell for and would love to get my hands on is this silver sequined tank that Jessica was checking out.

I don’t go out of my way to wear a lot of heavily sequined items on a regular basis because you can get carried away with the glitz. It’s the holiday season though. Between holiday parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations, the month of December offer up ample opportunities to get away with a little sparkle and shine.

I would love to wear this in the silver shade (the gold as seen above is nice too, but silver is more my thing) with a black jacket and black dress pants. You can pick one up for $59.50.

Emily Blunt’s favorite handbag

If you happen to catch Emily Blunt out on the street doing her running around to talk shows or the airport, you can almost guarantee that she’s got her favorite handbag hanging off of her shoulder.

Emily had been favoring the Gerard Darel flat jack messenger bag a lot lately. To be honest I like when you see a celebrity with a “staple” piece in their wardrobe. The rest of us, the non-celebrities? We don’t have the luxury of using a different bag every time we walk out the front door, so I can identify more with a star who uses something more than just once.

It must be because it’s a messenger bag. While it doesn’t work for a red carpet event, it does work for everything else. You can carry everything you need in there, from your wallet to your phone to your favorite necessities.

Fergie’s butt-friendly jeans!

You know what every woman needs? A pair of jeans that is flattering to her, uh, butt. It’s clear that Fergie knows that too and has found a great pair to wear!

Fergie was with the Black Eyed Peas at the Taboo and Jump Footwear launch in New York City and she kept it casual with some skinny jeans, black shirt, and blue jacket.

Fergie’s big bold ring

Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas is never one to shy away from a bold fashion statement, and that can be seen very clearly as she poses here with Will.I.Am at the Vip Room in Paris.

Check out that ring! It’s almost like a big animal claw isn’t it? Between the size and the way it tapers into a really serious point, that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw it!

I don’t think I have the personality to wear something so big and daring myself – although I like big pendants sometimes, my rings tend to be more on the understated side. If you have a Fergie personality though, someone adventurous and unapologetic, you might be able to pull off a piece like this.

I’m going to be honest (and risk the wrath of many fans) by admitting that there are many times that I’ve seen Kristen Stewart on the red carpet or other events and I’ve wondered what she was thinking when she chose her outfit that day. The girl has made some very crazy and questionable fashion choices.

However, at the New Moon premiere in Los Angeles, that was certainly not the case. Kristen stood on the red carpet looking like a beautiful princess in a very pretty Oscar de la Renta strapless gown. She looked stunning!

Selena Gomez dazzles in white

Selena Gomez looked very pretty at the recent TV Guide Hot List party. She wore a nice little white mini-dress by Twenty Cluny but the short length wasn’t too much.

If you’re heading out on the town and want to dress like Selena, you can balance the simple cut and style of this dress by adding some dangling earrings and a sparkling bracelet as she did. The neckline makes it so that you don’t even really need a necklace, although if you want to wear one you’d be best off wearing one that’s long enough to hang down quite a bit.

Kate Beckinsale’s black clutch

Kate Beckinsale attended the Museum of Contemporary Arts gala over the weekend and dressed the part of a woman checking out fine art. She wore a shiny green one-shoulder gown and carried her essentials in a tiny little black clutch.

A clutch is the perfect way to carry a bit of cash (or a credit card), some lip gloss, and your keys without having to lug around a huge purse. Big handbags are awesome but they’d look totally out of place with a fancy gown. Kate chose the Jenny Packham “Baguette” clutch for her evening at the museum.

Rihanna keeps warm with a trapper’s hat

The chill of winter is in the air throughout parts of the Northern Hempisphere, and London can attest to that. Luckily, despite the cold, Rihanna kept her head toasty warm by wearing a furry (faux I hope!) trapper’s hat while she was visiting.

A trappers’s hat isn’t necessarily what you’d expect to see on a stylish woman like Rihanna but she makes it look good. Besides, those things are perfect for keeping your ears and forehead from feeling like they’re about to fall right off your body.
