Demi’s pink tiered cocktail dress was designed by Jenny Packham. It features a neckline that is heavily embellished with large crystals. The dress is from the Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection.

Now for the question! Hot or not? I’d love to hear your thoughts because I’m completely torn. On the one hand, the dress itself is super pretty and I like the soft pink color. That shade looks particularly good on Demi because of her dark hair, it makes a great contrast.

On the other hand, I am really not feeling the crystal neckline. It’s just too much. It’s such a delicate little cocktail dress that I find the big neckline overwhelms the whole look. Almost as though – if you can pardon my corny comparison – the neckline is screaming while the dress is just whispering. It doesn’t go together.

I think of all of them, Carrie Underwood looked the prettiest. Her dress wasn’t spectacular but it was nice enough, it suited her, and I like the way she did her hair.

Carrie wore a one-shoulder Theia cocktail dress in a peachy-gold shade. I’m never sure how I feel about belting a dress, but in this case I think Carrie’s belt adds a nice punch to the overall look. The rest of her pieces are all by Jimmy Choo.

Seriously though, she’s so incredibly pretty. I love when she wears her hair like this so we can see her beautiful face.

However, at the New Moon premiere in Los Angeles, that was certainly not the case. Kristen stood on the red carpet looking like a beautiful princess in a very pretty Oscar de la Renta strapless gown. She looked stunning!

Olivia wore a beautiful and classy cream-colored dress that was beyond elegant. To set it off, she also wore a pair of nude platforms in patent leather and carried a clutch to match.

This year’s 2009 Emmy Awards had a decent mix of neutrals with bright shades and as a viewer I appreciated that! In no particular order, here are some of my favorite looks of the night.

Mariska Hargitay wore a beautiful shiny white gown which looked amazing on her. I’ve always found Mariska to be a highly underrated Hollywood beauty because she’s absolutely gorgeous and I don’t think enough people appreciate her good looks.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has had to put up with so many awful, unsavory things said about her appearance and those people can just stuff it because honestly, she looked stunning in a pale yellow gown at the awards.

Heidi Klum has always made pregnancy look beautiful and glamourous but last night she outdid herself in a wonderful fitted black gown. I’m not sure what’s helping her belly defy gravity like that but she looks incredible!

Sandra Oh dazzled in a strapless gold gown that shimmered under the lights. It’s almost a shock to see her looking like this because you get so used to only seeing her in scrubs when she plays Christina on “Grey’s Anatomy” – I love it!

To be fair to the men, I have to give a mention to reality tv host Jeff Probst (plus, I’ve always had a wee crush on him). The man looks good in his suit, a nice change from his casual wear while hosting Survivor. And also, his wife wore a stunning turquoise dress that can not be ignored. What a gorgeous couple!

Kate Walsh, like Mariska Hargitay, chose a white gown, but hers stood out because of the beautiful soft ruffles that added so much femininity. Very pretty!

Vanessa Williams made an excellent choice with her blue gown. Not only is the neckline very flattering, the shade of blue looks incredible with her skin tone and eye color.

It’s hard to pick one favorite dress since so many celebrities made great choices, but if I was strong-armed into decision-making I could probably confess that I think Sigourney Weaver had my favorite dress of the evening. The red was beautiful and the one-shoulder look was very subtly sexy. Sigourney is a prime example that aging does not have to be a woman’s enemy because she still looks smokin’ hot.

5. Claire Danes – Claire is often under the radar. You don’t hear too much about her when she’s not currently promoting a film, living quietly. But when you see her, it’s hard to miss her. She never stands out by wearing something overly daring or extravagant; she stands out by wearing something that is simply beautiful with clean lines that looks gorgeous on her.

4. Anne Hathaway – I love seeing pictures of Anne when she’s out on the red carpet or attending some sort of special event. Her clothing style is always a combination of classic and something new. You sort of get the feeling that if you look back at her 20 years from now, you’ll still think she looked amazing.

3. Vanessa Hudgens – Vanessa is very young still, but she’s got a great start when it comes to being a classic Hollywood beauty. Between her long dark waves and the gowns she chooses, she always looks picture perfect. She may have made some mistakes in life (those naked photos will haunt her forever, I fear), but she more than makes up for it on the red carpet and in the end people will remember her more for what she did wear than what she didn’t.

2. Katie Holmes – Here’s the interesting thing about Katie: I don’t always like what she wears. Honestly, I sometimes think she wears very strange things (though I love that dress in the picture above!). But when it comes to Katie, it still works as far as style is concerned because she wears the things that she likes, doesn’t attempt to wear something just for the shock value, and does her own thing. In that sense she almost reminds me of Diane Keaton who would show up wearing suits when everyone else was in a gown. She marches to her own style drum!

1. Angelina Jolie – I may be biased but to me Angelina is the epitome of old school Hollywood beauty. She has the long hair, the bewitching smile, the bedroom eyes, and every dress she wears ends up being spectacular on her. Even my least favorite of her dresses have still looked incredible on her in the end. She could wear a paper bag and still look stunning. That’s because she wears the clothes – the clothes never, EVER wear her. Really though, you don’t need to look exactly like Angelina to look as good as she does. The reason she always looks so perfect in front of the cameras is because of the self-confidence she has, and that’s the staple of every iconic Hollywood bombshell in the history of Tinseltown.

Tiffani hit up the NBC/ Universal 2009 TCA press tour All-Star Party with a vintage buttery gold colored clutch to offset her beautiful white strapless dress.

Meanwhile, Anne attended the red carpet premiere of Spread with a rectangular beaded clutch.

Marion was in France for the premiere of Public Enemies, her new movie with (drool) Johnny Depp, and she wore a beautiful pale pink Christian Dior wrap dress. What really stole the show though was not her classy dress – it was her eye-catching ruby-red John Galliano wedge platform shoes!

Talk about channeling your inner Dorothy! If you want to spice up your summer evening, you can get a slightly tamer, but equally sparkly ruby-red shoes to skip on down the yellow brick road!

Hmmm. Did I really say “tamer”? Maybe not, right? But are those fabulous or what?! They come in black sparkle as well but I wouldn’t even bother with black – the red stands out so much more and just seems like a lot more fun.

Obviously these aren’t every day shoes (unless you too are a celebrity!) but wouldn’t these be amazing as a punch of dramatic color for an all-black outfit if you were out at a club on a warm summer evening? I know I’m sitting on my hands to keep myself from ordering them, especially since you can buy them here for only $35!
