You know how I feel about my coupons for free stuff!

ElizabethArden.com
Well, right now at Elizabeth Arden, with coupon code BEAUTY25, we score a FREE 4 piece Deluxe Beauty Box.
The box is pretty cool, it includes a Double Density Maximum Volume Mascara, an Eyeshadow Quad, Mediterranean Eau de Parfum Spray, and a Ceramide Plump Perfect Eye Moisture Cream SPF 15.
As these are all items I’m a fan of anyway, it’s a doubly good deal – especially if you were going shopping there regardless!
Fashion Week Day 1, Continues – Elizabeth Arden

So after the Red Dress show, some of the gals headed off backstage to Jason Wu, I went back and chilled out a little bit and got ready for a lunch with Lindsey and Suki from my beloved Elizabeth Arden. I’m already (and have been) a great fan of Elizabeth Arden – as I have mentioned plenty of times before, their Double Density mascara is my favorite. They are trying to convince me that their new Ceramide mascara is even greater, but we will see how she fares through the Mascara Wars. Gonna be tough to beat Double Density, but if anyone can do it, it is probably Elizabeth Arden herself.
They also told me about their new Mediterranean offspring that is coming out soon (what was that new word I learned, Lindsey?? I already forgot…LOL), and had the most wonderful demo to go along with it – something that really was helpful to my non-professional perfuming self. Along with a sample of the perfume itself (I think its called Breeze, but don’t quote me on that – all of my literature from Fashion Week is coming home via FedEx on Friday..lol), Suki brought along samples of the top, middle and bottom notes separately. She dipped each of them and let me smell them individually – that was a tremendously educational process for me. I really feel like I have a much better grip on fragrance in general after that.
Also, Elizabeth Arden has launched a brand new foundation to go with their Intervene line of anti-aging products. I decided a few weeks ago that it was time for me to branch out of my bareMinerals and try some of the many new liquid foundations on the market, and that is one I have been using for a couple of weeks now – and I really love it. The first day I wore it, I kept catching my reflection in the mirror and noticing that my skin really glowed – and looked a little younger, fresher and less wrinkly. My imagination? I don’t think so. Stay tuned for pics and some more in depth evaluation on Intervene foundation (SPF 15 – yeah!)- and if you have the opportunity, go give it a try, it is really a great foundation!

So many new mascaras, so little time. I have been in love with my Elizabeth Arden Double Density mascara, but it is time to rebuy again (you are replacing your mascara every three months, right??) – and I think I need to check out some more current offerings because, well, thats what I do.
I would like to know what your favorites are from the last year or so, so I can pick up some of the ones I haven’t tried. So let me have it – what are YOUR favorites?

Tis the season once again – the 2007 Glam Beauty Awards are upon us. Vote for your favorite cosmetics, hair, face and body products for 2007.
Some of my favorites were represented (Ahava Stress Melt Butter Salt, Dashing Diva nail polish, Paul Mitchell Hair Repair – yeah!), and some were sadly overloooked (Elizabeth Arden Double Density Mascara, Bioelements Sleepwear), but regardless it is a great way to let people know what is working and what is not in the world of women’s products. And you might find something new in there that you want to try as well – I know I sure did. You would think I have seen just about everything that is out there, if not tried it, but I haven’t. I found several things that I am going to check out at my next opportunity – I hope you will too!
Not Loving the Fiberwig Mascara

I was sooooo geared up to love this mascara – I have heard so much talk about it, just like the “black mask” of late – but alas, I just don’t love it. In fact, I don’t even like it.
Fiberwig is a mascara out of Japan that is the hottest thing going in the beauty world over there for awhile. It has little fibers in the mascara and their tag line is “paint on false eyelashes.” First of all, really I noticed a minimal amount of lengthening, even after many, many coats. It didn’t really clump (or smudge), so in that respect its ok. I used their “tapping on the end of my lashes” method to try to get this amazing length I have heard about, but nothing impressive. And it didn’t do much in the thickening department either.
All in all, that was pretty much $22 spent on a mascara that was very average. To top things off, I think it flaked a fiber off and into my eye, and with my contacts, that was some most incredible discomfort. Yeah, yeah, I know you shouldn’t wear fiber mascara with contacts.
I am still sticking with my Elizabeth Arden Double Density. I really love that stuff.
And if I need real length, I loves my Shu and my Ardell lashes very much.
Thinking About Washing My Face

Whew – it is hard for me to get back up and running after the holidays. The last thing my hubby I want to think about is buying more stuff to try (yeah, to try to find a place for in the cabinet), but tis the season for taking care of yourself, right? And you can’t very well keep up with your washing your face resolution without any good stuff to do that with, right?
I have a new product by Elizabeth Arden (the most fabulous mascara maker…lol) that I have been using since about the first of December that I will get to in the next post, but first I want to link you to the most anal rententive face washing video ever – click here. Maybe not so anal as it is ineffective, at least it would be for me. Do you wash your face like this? I sure don’t – if you do, let me introduce you to my friend, the Clarisonic.
Thanks, Hsien, for the hoot of a video.
eBeautyDaily’s Best of 2006

Honestly, I can’t believe that we are at the end of the year already. In just a couple of days it will be 2007. Wow. How time flies when you are getting old having fun!
Can it really have been a whole year since I made my Best of 2005 list? It just doesn’t seem possible really. I have been thinking and gathering my favorite products from the year for several weeks now, and after much hemming and hawing, I have narrowed it down to ten, so here they are, my 10 favorite things from 2006.
1. Clairisonic Facial Brush This has truly been the miracle answer for my skin problems, putting it easily at the number one spot on my list.
2. Elizabeth Arden Double Density Mascara and Lash Optimizer This is hands down the best mascara I have used. It finds and coats every lash, curls, thickens, lengthens – truly amazing mascara. I did not think twice about repurchasing it.
3. bareMinerals foundation This is truly my favorite. I haven’t been totally in love with a foundation since Borghese’s cream to powder waaaaaaaay back in the 80’s, but this one is “the one.” Foundation perfection.
Elisabeth Arden Double Density Mascara and Lash Optimizer

Oh boy, do I ever love Elizabeth Arden’s Double Density Mascara. It finds and accentuates every lash I have – and in combination with the Lash Optimizer (which is a moisturizing primer), below, it is as close to looking like false lashes without the fiber-y extenders as I have ever used. I swear it found lashes I never knew I had. No more thinking my lashes are sparse and stubby! There is no clumping – the brush is dense and full – and no smudging or flaking at all. And at a reasonable price of $17 for the mascara and $14 for the Lash Optimizer (don’t skip this, it is a miracle worker), this is definitely going on my reorder list.
