You *might* remember my rant from a few months ago about the woman with the monstrous gray roots that offended me so (well, I am not that easily offended, it was just a lil’ rant…LOL). I was that woman the week before my high school reunion a few weeks ago, because I didn’t want to color my hair until the day before my reunion - and it needed it, badly. If you don’t know this about me, I am sickeningly prematurely gray, so when my medium blonde hair begins to grow out, pure white hairs, nearly 100% around my face, start twinkling just the minute they see the light. On a related note, I do not share the opinion that hair color harms your unborn child - this is not anywhere near a proven fact. When one of m prematurely (31!) gray friends became pregnant she stopped dying her hair and we all saw how gray she really was. Her opinion was it was better to offend people for 9 months then risk the health of her child. Something to think about. We call this look “The Eagle Toe,” and although it most often is seen on strippers (er…exotic dancers) wearing wayyyyyy too small shoes and wayyyyyy too tall heels, it can be spotted fairly regularly in your very own neighborhood. You know how a bird grips a branch, with its toes wrapped around it? So does a woman wearing too-small-strappy-sandals. This picture, via the Manolo, is of Queen Latifah. Doesn’t her poor foot look like it is screaming in pain? Queen does not strike me as a woman who would put herself through any fashion pain, but the proof is in the pudding. That poor woman I was ranting about needed some serious work!! You know you can get your new growth just retouched with your base color and just get highlights every few months. This is a depressing topic for me! lol...makes me think I need to get some body de-cluttering counsel from FlyLady. I can be so lazy when it comes to touch ups (as in currently) that I have a 1/4 inch of brown regrowth, caramel base color and blonde hightlights. It is a 3 hour commitment at the salon...and while my stylist is a hottie, he's not that hot...and his conversations can be a little boring. lol But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do... Oiy!
