Amy Adams - 81st Annual Academy Awards

When CoverGirl Makeup Artist Molly R. Stern did Amy Adams’ makeup for the Academy awards last night, she said her inspiration was “A cross between Talouse Latrec’s dancing girls and the watercolor feeling of a Gustav Klimt painting.”

OK there. Well, whatever, she looked really pretty! Molly gave us a step by step of how we can create this look on our own, at home.

“First of all,  have to say I was the most excited I have ever been this morning. I couldn’t sleep a wink. I was dreaming about Amy’s makeup!” shares the adorable Molly.

Molly started by prepping Amy’s face with Jurlique citrus spray for a healthy lift and then administering a light facial massage with La Mer moisturizing lotion.

Her face was based with YSL perfect touch #2, blushed with Chantecaille Aqua Blush in Frivolous as a peachy base with Chantecaille Sesame peach eyeshadow over top,” – this is what gave her that awesome peaches and cream complexion in all the red carpet pictures.

Her eyes were stunning!
Molly said Amy’s eyes are based with NARS cream eyeshadow in Maracaibo. Over that she wore Shu Uemura shadow in gray 960 mixed with Shu Uemura shadow in purple 700 all over the lid up into the crease. “With a flat shadow brush I added a touch of NARS shadow in Ondine on the inside corner of her lid to give the eye a little gold hint!” She then lined the top and underneath of her eye with Trish McEvoy’s Arabian nights definer and to soften the line underneath, added a soft smudge of Suqqu lavender shadow in #27.

On her lashes? “I put 1 soft coat of CoverGirl Exacts Eyelights Mascara in Black Ruby!” (I love seeing the drugstore brands so easily mixed with the less accessible ones.)

On her lips

“I based her lip with La Mer lipbalm then applied a thin coat of Outlast Lipstain by CoverGirl in Plum Pout.” Molly then topped that with a sheer layer of Shu Uemura wine lip color in 265 with a dot of CoverGirl Wetslicks AmazeMint in Plum Crazy at the center of her lip for a little extra pout.

Inside tidbit: The Plum Crazy is what Amy kept in her bag for touch-ups!

Thanks so much to Molly for all this fabulous information!
