Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 PA+++
by
A highly nourishing, cream formula sunscreen for the face that defends against powerful UVA/UVB rays that cause sunburn, cell damage, dryness, roughness, and premature signs of aging such as fine lines. Formulated with the retexturizing ingredient Xylitol to counteract roughness and keep skin looking soft and healthy and with antioxidant Thiotaurine. Can be applied easily and absorbs quickly, leaving no visible white residue or trace of stickiness. Very water-resistant, perspiration-resistant, and PABA-free. Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective UV sunscreen.
Personally, I’m not a sunscreen freak esp on the face. I actually love spending some time under the sun whenever I’m on the beach, simply to get a tan. I’m tempted to talk about my tanning oil choice but I reckon I’ve save that for another day. Going back, I know we do need to protect the skin if we’re to be exposed for long periods of time, so, choosing the right kind of sunscreen is important.
I vote for something that will moisturise and hydrate while it protects. We have to remember that we have to take extra care of our skin on the face since it’s more delicate and prone to damage. Shiseido’s sunscreen has anti-oxidants, which helps in nourishing the skin and reducing signs of aging. Having your skin frequently exposed to harmful UVA/UVB rays that causes sunburn, cell damage, dryness, roughness and subjecting it to heat that will cause dehydration will obviously require more attention than when it’s less exposed. I like their promise of it being water-resistant, perspiration-resistant, and that it absorbs easily and won’t leave a sticky feeling.
It’s Fall, do you still need to put on sunscreen? I reckon yes. I remember when I spent a few months in cold weather, Fall and Spring in South Australia. I made a mistake of not putting any sunscreen since I hardly feel the sun on my skin due to the cold. When I got back to Manila, I realised how dark my skin — face and all — was! I don’t want to think about how my skin aged. Egad. So, yea. It doesn’t really excuse the fact that it’s cold. The sun will still emit the harmful rays and us be exposed to it.
