Dry and Frizzy
I woke up this morning with a frizz attack. Sure, it’s not uncommon for me, someone that used to be called Triangle Head in high school because of my out of control, poofy locks, but still, it was disconcerting.
It was time to fall back on mother’s wisdom. Oil to the rescue.
Putting oil in your locks to help revitalize them from the dry weather and damaging sun is something Indian women have done for centuries. And the type of oil is not a huge matter of discussion. I’ve used everything from coconut oil to olive oil straight from my pantry. But for today, I found something a bit more refined.
Shine Coconut Amla Hair Treatment. Coconut is super-moisturizing and there is even Neem oil which adds a kick of antioxidants. (Stay tuned for more about the power of Neem in an upcoming post).

Get it from the beauty goddess herself, a good friend, Shalini Vadhera at GlobalGoddessBeauty.com.
The best part is you can leave it on for hours or just 10 minutes whatever you have time for, and regardless, you will see a difference. Thank you, thank you Shalini, my hair has been tamed and it’s oh so pretty. Now I just need a Friday night date!

I haven’t used oil for hair before. Do you leave it in? Do you wash it out?
Hi Icy. The best is to leave the oil in for a few hours while at home, then shampoo and go. If you don’t have that much time, try washing your hair and then putting in the oil, leave on for 10 minutes in the shower, and then shampoo and condition as you normally do.
You don’t want to put oil in your hair and go out and about, a greasy mess.
This is like the *perfect* time for a post on fixing dry hair, because I went in for a haircut today and the stylist remarked my hair was slightly dry… I’m going to try this later in the week, great post!
This Shine product sounds good. I will try it. I also like Mixed Chicks prodcuts (http://www.mixedchicks.net) for my frizz.
