Eastern Experiments: Maybelline BlushStudio Mousse

Next on my list of makeup must-haves is the blush. I reckon that’s why I had gone great lengths (distance-wise) to get the NARS Super O and I’ve been shopping for other fabulous options for a blush. A surprising great find came from an equally surprising (though I should’ve expected it) source, my mum. It’s Maybelline New York BlushStudio Mousse or also known as Dream Mousse Blush.

Reading up on the product tells me that it has an air-soft formula which provides luminous, long-lasting color on cheeks. It’ll glide on smoothly and blends easily for seamless color and a natural, radiant finish. The air-whipped mousse will deliver satin-soft feel on skin and its long-wearing formula will not clog pores.

One morning, I decided to grab the pot and give the blush a whirl. And whirled it, I did.

The blush is in Soft Plum. Texture isn’t silky, you’d think that its consistency isn’t whipped properly. You’d worry that once you apply it, you’d see bits of residue. So, with a small portion I had applied on the back of my hand.

Definitely, best way to go about using this blush is applying it with your fingertips. Spreading it over the skin is relatively easy, no apparent issue on the application per se. One thing I noticed is that you do have to work on blending the blush properly as soon as you can, otherwise, as soon as it dries, you’ll have trouble subduing the shade if ever you had applied too much and had failed to blend it properly.

It has a frosty finish and it’s relatively light on the skin. It’s easy to apply and it does glide on over your skin smoothly. Result looks very natural and it is long-wearing.

Again, remember to use your fingertips to apply the blush (preferably onto the apply of your cheeks), blend quickly, and apply more blush to achieve the desired shade or flush.

Damage: Php 249.00 (around $5)

Verdict? For its price, it’s quite a great blush find. This is one blush I wouldn’t mind using. I like its finish and the ease of application. I’ll try to post an FOTD when I have this on my cheeks.

    Hi there! :)

I actually have this blush in 03 Berry Delight. I have a love/hate relationship with this product because sometimes, after just one hour of wearing this blush, it looks like I didn’t put any at all. Well, it’s pretty cheap so I can afford to apply it more often. ;)

I haven’t tried this one, but I love mousse blush. The texture is so fabulous! Thanks for the info, Sasha.
