Pantene Pro-V
Ice Shine Shampoo

Brilliant, all-day shine can be yours. Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo gently transforms dull, lifeless hair by removing dirt, oil and styling products. When used as a system with Pro-V Ice Shine Conditioner, you’ll see:

* Hair that’s conditioned and shiny
* Naturally reflective, smooth and shining strands that beam with a healthy look

Having just stepped out of the shower, I’m reminded of the current shampoo I’m experimenting on, which I’d like to share with you beauties. It’s the Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo. So far, it’s been a cool experience. (Pardont the pun. Hehe)

To be quite honest, I’m not at all particular with the sort of shampoo I’m using. That’s probably why I’m so open to trying out new ones on a whim. I do however take note of the ones that doesn’t really sit well with me and my hair. I can actually stop using one if after one use, I’d notice my hair feeling a bit dry and string-y; even when I had spent a good amount of money in purchasing it. Such a waste, yea? Tell me about it.

Anyway, there are certain hair care brands that I’ve grown to trust a bit. Pantene has introduced a number of products that I don’t mind using. They’re not too bad in my book. But I admit that I have the tendency to choose a different brand over it. Perhaps, from personal experience, Pantene products looses traction as you use them. Weird observation, I know. I guess I have yet to familiarise myself with Pantene’s other products, huh? I guess this opportunity to do just that can be a good thing.

Learning that the Ice Shine Shampoo has a gentle formulation that is suitable even for colour-treated and/or permed hair. Check and check. My hair is both colour-treated and permed, er, rebonded, that is. I reckon that’s why my experience, so far, has been good. No visible factor that can cause me to complain.

I love the packaging, too. The semi-clear blue bottle has me thinking of “icy cool freshness” which somehow makes me expect a “menthol-y” feel when I massage it onto my scalp. But no, nothing happening there. It’s quite refreshing to use clear shampoo again. It creates this impression that there are no unnecessary colouring ingredients that may be too much for the hair. Also, I do enjoy the scent. It doesn’t have the usual commercialised shampoo scent. I actually took my time washing my hair, massaging it onto my hair more thoroughly cuz it smells great! LOL.

One good indication that it’s gentle on my scalp is that it’s not flaking. No flakes means double yay! Though it gets a bit itchy. I’m not sure if it’s cuz of the conditioner I’m using. Or if I just need to rinse more thoroughly next time. Gah. This conditioner just might be a bit too hard to rinse off then! I’ve already been spending more than 30 minutes just washing my hair! How much more water should I consume? Sigh. Ah, well. More hair washing experiments for me. Heh.

Another thing that I like about it is the uni-sex image it has; aesthetically suitable for both male and female users. Yea, my brother is actually using the same shampoo. Well, at least, he was using it when he was still here in Manila. Which brings me to ask, is it even available in Manila? I haven’t seen it on shelves of supermarkets or beauty specialty stores. It is, however, in the US (of course!) cuz that’s where my brother bought our current stock (hehe) and it’s also available online.

Here are some listings I’ve managed to pull:

Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo – Drugstore.com $5.79
Pantene Ice Shine Shampoo – Ulta.com $3.99
Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo For Healthy Hair – Amazon.com $9.86

So, ok. If any of you get the chance to try this product out, let us know! We’d love to hear what you think of it.

I am the same with you, Shampoos and Conditioners, I would try any brands in a heartbeat, but the difference with us is that, I’ve found good shampoos and conditioners that works for me..but I am still tryin on what’s new out there lol. This looks interesting :)

I always see this at the store when I’m browsing through the shampoo aisle..

I love that “cool” feeling and usually try anything and everything that gives me that.. but for some reason I never picked this one up.

Good on ‘ya fro finding ones that suits you. But why do you have to try other products if the ones you’re using already works? Just curious. Yea, this one is worth the look. I haven’t noticed anything amiss, well, at least on my hair it seems to work well. :)

Let me know if you do end up trying it out. I’d love to hear your thoughts! :)

  5. Nikki says:

Sasha, I still try new ones although the present ones work because I know it sounds weird, but hair products work best for me for a while and it just won’t work after a couple of months! So i do need to alternate :)

I hear ‘ya. That’s probably why I don’t get attached to any brand at all. I can always use them in rotation, if you know what I mean.
