elle is the new fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent (I love to say that with ze bad French accent) – it is a light fresh scent that is really right up my alley for an every day fragrance. The top notes are citron, lychee and peony; the mid notes are freesia, jasmine (yum) and pink berries, and the bottom notes are patchouli, vetiver and ambrette. And one of the most attractive features to me is the incredibly gorgeous PINK bottle – I love to look at it sitting on my shelf – it is really striking and beautiful!
elle has the proper accompanying layering products as well – a fairly light lotion and a shower gel, so if you are like me and feel this layering thing is important, elle has you covered. 
And I totally dig that advertisment above, so check it out too! The elle set would really make a great gift for a young hip fashionista, so keep that in mind for your holiday shopping. Every girl loves perfume, don’t they??
And can I just say (again) – I wish beauty and fashion would find another technology to play with besides flash for their websites. They may look cool once they FINALLY load, but they are big and unwieldy and if I am not specifically researching something, I immediately leave when I see that “Loading…” notice. Ugh. However, in YSL’s defense, they have produced and released a WordPress theme that they used in their French campaign – so that is a big thumbs up to YSL appreciating the beauty of open source!
