Eyebrow Grooming Revisited

Brooke Shields is a beautiful woman, no doubt. In fact, there are probably a good number of women who might say that Brookie looks even more beautiful now, at age 40, than she ever has before, and I am one of them. She also has always been known for those eyebrows. So, why am I shocked at the way they look in the fall Jones New York advertisements? Look at these things, they have a life of their own:

To revisit a previous subject, I am going to pull out an old picture. Please pardon the repeat, but in light of the potential ugliness, some might need a reminder:

Now, there are stylish bushy eyebrows, and just plain – well, to spare you an ugly word, I will just say that these eyebrows truly look like black caterpillars crawling over her forehead. They probably extend an inch past where they should stop on the outside, and at least a quarter inch on the inside. And this is not mentioning the thickness, which I could possibly take (probably not) if they weren’t so terribly long. Brooke, at well over 6 feet tall, is a very statuesque woman, and these brows overpower her.

Please, let me beg all of you who may be reading this–do not follow Brooke’s bug-brows trend this time. This is NOT beautiful.

Brooke plucks too little and I tend to pluck too much. Thanks for the info on how we’re supposed to do this. :)

No matter how many times I read instructions for how to do this, I can still never do as a good a job as a professional. That said, my eyebrows look tons better than they did 15 years ago! :D

Agathe–thats what eyebrow pencils are for! In my opinion, too much plucking is WAY better than THIS alternative. Brooke is beautiful, but OMG those brows!

Lei, I wish I were closer and could show you myself. But I am glad you are at least making the effort. :)

    Hi My name is Steve,

I did something Kind of silly. On my left eye just last night, 7-26-08 I cut some of my eyebrow hairs on my left eye and now there is a little bit of a bald spot there. Now I did not cut that many, So I know that they will grow back, but now right next to the bald spot there is a patch of hair that looks like it is going straight down instead of straight across like it should be I’m assuming that I also cut some hair there as well and it is the way I cut it. So I’m wondering for the hair that is coming in straight down do you think I should just wait for more hair to grow in to replace the hair that I cut in the same spot where the hair is growing in straight down or should I use an eyebrow pencil to fix it until the new hair come in or what can I do to fix it. So that it looks like it comes in straight across. I know it’s in the way I cut it that’s making it look that way, but I just do not know what to do. Would maybe eyebrow waxing fix it?

    Thanks so Much!
