Elyse: I'm sorry if you've found this bit as nonsense. However, let me clarify something. The principle behind double cleansing isn't merely focused on "massaging the face". As said in the post, it presents two stages of cleansing, one is focused on the use of cleansers or makeup removers. Next is focused on hydrating and cleaning with the use of foam and water. The illustration merely provides a guide to make sure you are able to apply, massage, and rinse properly and evenly. Circular motion is soothing to the skin, not to aggravate or cause scratching or unnecessary friction that can damage the skin and I know a lot of people who practice this sort of thing and can stand by it. However, I am no dermatologist, I can only attest to tried and proven practices. :)

I'm guessing you've got flawless skin, with your apparent knowledge of skincare, perhaps you can share your own beauty secrets that make sense. :)

This is nonsense - massaging your face inward, outward, up, down or around is not going to make a difference. Massaging cleanser and moisturizer into your face helps to cleans and hydrate better, but any basic concept of biology will tell you that it doesn't matter which direction you do it.

[...] BeautyBentoBox.com I came across this article about a skin care technique called double cleansing. Most of us probably assume simply lathering our faces with cleanser and rinsing it with water leaves it clean enough to promote a clear, and healthy complexion. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy, and like everything else it takes consistency and care to have beautiful skin. In this article, Sasha explains double cleansing and stresses it’s importance, she hopes it will become your ritual beauty process.
This is an interesting tip...thanks! :)

If you're into facial cleansing wipes, try buying Nivea or L'Oreal wipes in Tickles. Only 50 for a pack of 25. Cheaper than Baby Wipes hehe. Read it in baklitaan.blogspot.com

Being careful in the way you massage your face while you wash keeps you from pulling the skin downward.

Gravity is already pulling at our skin, why help it make our sags come sooner?

Going the right direction and taking care to gently massage each part of the face can also help with puffiness in the face and in the under eye area.

Not only do you cleanse but you also press out congestion that makes bags!
