First Day of School! (i.e., Life is Good!)

The end of August is always full of *stuff.*  My birthday (thankGodthatsover), my Mom’s bday (Happy Birthday Mom! *muah*), and school starting. 

I have been in the weirdest funk this last two weeks – some big life changes coming up for me, some weirdness with friends, some weirdness with my daughter and all culminating with my 40th birthday last Friday, which was totally weird all in itself.  I am usually the perkiest person you know, but I have been a mess of tears, depression and who-knows-what this last couple of weeks.  But funny, how I woke up the day after my birthday, back to normal.  It might have been the birthday breakdown on the phone with my brother on Friday that got it out of my system, or it just might have been the passing of that horrid day.  LOL  But whatever it is, I always lean on my catchphrase, “this too shall pass,” and it did.

So today, my first born enters high school, and my son starts 4th grade.  And man is it ever quiet here!  I think I am going to take a long hot bath, maybe a little nap (5am comes early!!) and squeak in a peaceful facial while I have all this time to myself. And before 4pm when we get back to chores, homework and –well- normalcy and structure.  I love structure!

I also hope to get back to my early morning blogging schedule – for some reason I wake up thinking about beauty, and I do my most productive writing between 5 and 6 am, when all is quiet, my mind is fresh and the rest of my world is asleep.  If I don’t Get Things Done before 8 am, they often go undone, hence my brilliantly bad and unreliable summer blogging (I don’t get UP til 8…lol).  I hope normalcy is coming around for you too.  I love the fall, I love the weather, and most especially, I love the makeup and clothing of fall (granted, I don’t get to wear much fall clothing as it is still 100 degrees here through the first half of fall!).  MAC’s Cult of Cherries is my fall friend – I hope it is yours too!  Now, after watching that  crazy yummy video on the Cult of Cherries page, I am going to finish off my box of birthday chocolate covered strawberries – then am heading for the tub!!  Have a wonderful day!  *muah*
