Happy Friday! Today I have a guest blogger from the UK, Hayley from Sedu-FlatIrons, who has sent me a great article on the types and basic usage of the flat iron. I hope you enjoy her article, and please make her feel welcome! Now, on to Hayley:

We all know what
Now with most of us calling them Flat Irons many would call them
They are called ceramic due to the stone that is used to make the plates and that stone is called Tourmaline, Tourmaline is a very good stone because is generates a consistent heat that does not damage your hair. So what’s the most searched and bought Flat Iron on the market?
I would have to say with a lot of research that
Sedu Flat Irons come in 2 sizes of which are 1” and 1.5” plate widths. The difference in the size is down to the length of your hair, the 1 inch version is for medium length hair and the 1.5 inch version is for long hair and which is very course or thick.
There are many brands out there on the market as I said earlier in this article, with leading brands such as GHD, which is one of the top sellers in the UK, and then you have Babyliss, Bion, Chi and many more. Some Flat Irons have temperature controls so that you can set the heat to a desired temperature to suit your hair, some are cordless which in my eyes are not as good and some have a digital display. There’s so many to choose from.
So how do we use these Flat Irons?
- 1) Plug the appliance into a power outlet socket.
- 2) Set the temperature for damaged, fine and fragile hair (below 180C) – (for thick strong hair – above 180C).
- 3) Set the switch to the on position.
- 4) When the iron reaches it set temp the light will flash to let you know its ready.
- 5) Flat straightening I would recommend that you insert approx 2 inches of hair in between the plates, squeeze the handles together and glide the iron plates slowly to the end.
- 1) Do not use near water.
- 2) Do not touch the plates (very hot).
- 3) Please make sure to read instructions before use.
- 4) Be sure to switch off after use.

I think I am going to try that Sedu iron. I hate the one I have, it has interchangable plates- which is cool in concept- but it just doesnt get hot enough. Reading about that Sedu and its interesting technology on your site really made me want one! Now, I think the trick is going to be to find one! Thanks so much for the article Hayley!!
Thankyou for your reply Christina, if you are intersted then you could go to Sedu’s web page which is http://www.sedubeauty.com/ or you could go to ebay but apparently if you buy Sedu on ebay the warranty is void. http://health-beauty.search.ebay.com/sedu_Hair-Care_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR8QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsacatZ11854
I saw their webpage, and was noticing that they had an interesting list of scams on there, which makes me really think they are hard to find if lots of people are running scams. Folica does have them, I noticed…but havent checked yet to see if they are in stock, and am afraid to ask the pricing…
That supply and demand thing hits you in the pocketbook sometimes!
This is true there are alot of scams out there, but my review site will show you how to use and many other brands of hair irons….. I would have to say that you can buy Sedu flat irons from either top salons or http://www.folica.com/Ceramic_Fl_214_1.html On my website for people who do not know they can link straight to sedu beauty home page…
