Flawless Beauty Fortune

Just a quick funny story:

I received my Bare Minerals today from Sephora (Yay! Will tell you more about them next week), so I dutifully watched the enclosed DVD with mirror and minerals in hand, and then spent the late afternoon running around asking my family over and over “Does my skin look flawless?” like Leslie Blodgett promised it would. Both my kids had to get a definition of “flawless (plus the half circle and snap)” as they had no idea what I was talking about, but they insisted, after they learned what flawless was, that I did indeed fit the bill (my skin, anyway).

So, we went to the Chinese buffet for dinner early this evening, and here was my cookie fortune:

Hmm. I guess I am not flawless!

So my flawless skin questions have come to an end. Flawless is not that important. :) I do think it looks pretty darned good though!

  1. [...] The fabulous UPS man brought my bareMinerals on Friday, 4 days early.  Kudos to Sephora for their quick shipping!  Even though I had read everything I could get my hands on about bareMinerals (on their website and on Sephora), and had watched the infomercial a thousand times, I sat down with the DVD and watched it through.  There was not much in the way of new information on it, but I particularly enjoyed the last segments where the three women who were being used to show colors and applications finished off their makeup with other bareMinerals color cosmetics. [...]

  2. [...] In the Sun-Star is an editorial that I thought was pretty interesting, and pretty well goes along with my views, and even relates a little bit to my Flawless Fortune Cookie experience a couple of weeks ago. Here is a snip: In my life, I have seen what seemed to be beautiful turn ugly right before my eyes. I have heard many beautiful words that were mere garbage and had no meaning at all except for the stink that it brought. Beauty is not goodness. And ugliness is not automatically evil. You would be surprised at how supposedly beautiful people with all their fine manners and their sophisticated ways have dark hearts. [...]
