Get your NU face on!

nuface.jpgOne of my favorite beauty icons, Audrey Hepburn, once said, “The beauty of a woman changes with the passing years, it is up to her to manage the change she desires.”

She was so right.

Now, more than 55 years later, Audrey Hepburn’s philosophy has enlightened millions of women to the benefits of taking advantage of all science has to offer when it comes to their appearance.

I’m excited to see though that doing so just became a little bit easier.

Check out the NuFace device: It was recently cleared by the FDA as an at-home cosmetic device that safely and effectively improves the appearance of the face through the use of microcurrent technology. The muscles and skin tissues are lifted and toned utilizing the NuFace’s non-invasive and gentle electrical stimulation. “The NuFace device is bringing anti-aging to the next level,” says Dr. Peter Pugliese, a renowned physician and lead medical consultant of clinical studies for the Carol Cole Company. “Where Botox has made the anti-aging market turn on its heels, the NuFace device is a new and innovative skin health product.”

Currently, microcurrent technology is used in spas to lift and tone the face, reduce and eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, improve facial circulation, skin exfoliation, lymphatic drainage, treat sun damage and skin pigment as well as improve product penetration.

Emil Y. Chi, PhD, director of the University of Washington’s department of pathology, performed clinical studies using microcurrent technology. He notes, “The fact that this technology works in harmony with the body is evident. Examination of skin tissue treated with microcurrents showed a 45% increase in the number of elastin fibers in the dermis, collagen thickness in connective tissue increased 10%, and the number of blood vessels increased by 35%. The application of microcurrents to the skin and tissue produced a firmer and tighter feeling on the skin’s surface.”

This all feels like a magic wand, doesn’t it? How does it work?

The NuFace device can be used daily as an addition to a healthy skin regimen. A non-invasive approach to facial rejuvenation, the NuFace device is used to improve muscle tone in the face. The user glides the NuFace device along the contour of the face while a gentle alternating current is emitted through dual spherical probes. In addition, the NuFace device compliments many professional treatments including LED, laser, invasive procedures and injectables such as Botox.

“The NuFacecurrently retailed at spas, medispas, and select online retailers including www.myNuFace.com $379.00 and the kit includes: the NuFace® device, Derma-Gel, Optimizing Mist, Instructional DVD, One year warranty and 30-day money back guarantee. However, ONE reader will win one right now.

To have your chance to win, please share your own tried (and perhaps failed?) methods of following Ms. Hepburn’s sage advice. Deadline November 25.

I take care of my face by washing it daily and also getting facials on a semi-regular basis. I also use Mary Kay’s microdermabrasion creme, which envigorates my skin cells nicely!

  7. Lauralee Hensley says:

I too think you can beautiful at any age and how we handle it is up to us. In keeping with this, I am dying my hair because I don’t feel old enough to have so much gray showing. I also wear a hat when I’m out in the sun. I’d love to win the NuFace. Count me in.

  8. elena says:

i started anti-age moisturizers and serums at the age of 24, and i also ALWAYS apply suncream before going out, spf15 is the minimum protection i use

    Moisturize (with SPF!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  13. LKG says:

When I turned 25 someone very wise told me that whatever I am doing to my skin today is how it will look in ten years. I have lived by that motto for the last 14 years and everyday I put on a sunscreen that is a minimum 45 spf, I moisturize, exfoliate, see the dermatologist regularly, drink plenty of water, and try not to pick my monthly hormonal eruptions. People usually guess my age to be about 7 years younger than it is. Wear a hat!

  14. Carla says:

One good thing about acne is the dermatologist strength Retin A I’ve been using for 20 years. That and trying to stay out of the sun too much and taking the advice of another great beauty, Sophia Loren, get lots and lots of sleep. I’m trying to age gracefully but still minimize age’s effects.

  15. I use Eucerin with with SPF 30 for sensitive skin daily on all exposed skin areas and neosporin around eyes before bed! I also, use jojoba oil nightly applied after washing which totally controls my rosacea without drugs!
I would love to win this prize to add to my regiment to improve facial muscle tone!

  16. Jenn S. says:

Not much really. Lots of water and plenty of beauty rest.

  17. adrienne Gordon says:

    always mositurize

  18. MRS.MOMMYY says:

wash my skin with sensitive skin facial cleanser- not soap and wear plenty of sunscreen

  19. Kathy says:

I’ve tried moisturizers. But the wrinkles keep coming. Would love to give this a try.

  20. Aimee says:

I have tried to keep it by being more aware as I’ve gotten older, making sure to use a great moisturizer, being faithful about sunsceen, and paying attention to the needs of my skin. I can not even tell you HOW MUCH I would absolutely love this! I’m at the age where I am noticing differences, and while I’m trying hard, I don’t know that I’d ever be able to afford buying this although it looks like it could be a great help! Keeping my fingers crossed — thank you for the chance to win and the info about a great product!

  21. Stephanie V says:

I use make-up minimally, take care of my face with natural and organic products often adding organic jojoba oil to my moisturizers.

  25. Hayley G. says:

I never go to sleep without washing my face, removing my makeup and applying moisturizing lotion!

  26. Marti says:

I have tried everything to tighten my face, the strangest—Milk of Magnesia—yes, I was willing to paint a laxative on my face to stop it from dropping. Sad, but true.

  27. catherine miller says:

I use lots and lots of moisturizer. Thanks for the chance to win

  28. Angela P says:

    I have washed and moisturized!

  32. Vilma says:

I am in my late 50’s and everyone always takes me for at least 10 years younger than my actual age and think my daughter is my sister! But I’m proud of my age and each and every grey hair, because I’ve earned them all! You are only as old as you feel and you definitely can control ‘how you age’ and products like the NuFace at-home cosmetic device is one of the ways to do so!

  33. Lynn H says:

With my 50th birthady around the corner, I am starting to show some aging…I could really use this. I have been trying to slow down the aging process with moisturizing with all different products morning and night!

  34. Susan Burch says:

I smile alot, the lines look better!

  35. Susan C says:

I always wear sun-screen, but I still would like to look younger!

I always us a moisturizer with sun screen because the sun will age your skin alot. Thanks for the contest!

  39. Karen says:

It’s so important to use moisturizer at least twice a day!! Drying out is what makes your skin age.

  40. tanya Ramirez says:

    Hoping to win this

  41. Trish says:

I’ve tried all kinds of age defying creams and I’m convinced that wrinkles on the face are hereditary and nothing is going to stop them short of surgery!

  42. veronica sandberg says:

    Moisturize

  43. Kimberly B says:

I am always on the lookout for new things. I do my daily washing, moisturizing and anti-aging ritual. I think it works. Plus the fact the I workout and eat healthy surely has something to do with it too.

  44. marybeth says:

time to stop the clock, using anti wrinkle creams now

  45. karissa says:

I try not to sleep on face, but it is so hard! I try to sleep on my back. (less pressure on my face = less wrinkles.)

thanks so much for the chance!

  46. Karen Gonyea says:

    Daily Sunscreen :)

  47. tanya Ramirez says:

moisturizing is something I try to do often. But as moms know, buying things for yourself is almost always last on the shopping list.

  48. Rochelle K. says:

Use moisturizer and sunscreen, every day & I use a wrinkle cream at night around the eyes (gotta be proactive at the age of 26). Unfortunately, I’ll admit, I’ve also tried Restylene in the past just (just once I swear!!) to see what would happen.

  49. Linda says:

Keep the skin clean and moisurize.

  50. Katherine D. says:

I make sure I use sunscreen every day – it’s really the best way to ‘manage’ my beauty as I’m getting older!
