Girl-approved hair!

Girls, I am sure you are all very familiar with at least one incredibly sexy man who wears Axe. In reality, chances are they would be hot even without the scent…but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

Due to this – and the fabulous man candy apparent at all their affairs – I am always super excited to receive any sort of invite from AXE to attend their events. In the past months, they have them to celebrate everything from body wash to to body spray – and last night, they went in a whole new direction: Axe hair care!

Held at the super trendy Prive Salon in even trendier SOHO, NYC, there was a stylist on duty styling men in the style of Axe, over pink cocktails and platters of lobster salad and empanadas. (And hot Aussie bartenders!)

As we prefer our men to look sexy but not be all metrosexual about it, Axe does a great job describing a product’s use on the container itself: from clean-cut, to messy and shaggy, or spikey for the extremists.

We left with oodles of samples to share with the men we heart. And even better, FIVE readers right here will win the entire new AXE hair line. This includes:

AXE SHAMPOOS

· AXE Just Clean Shampoo provides a fresh scent and invigorating feel

· AXE De-Glue Shampoo + Scrub features rock crystals and removes the gunky product build-up blocking guys’ game

· AXE De-Poof Shampoo features a hydrating Kukui blend and deflates poofy hair

· AXE Anti-Dandruff Shampoo + Conditioner offers zinc-based dandruff control

· AXE 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner combines cleansing and conditioning to speed up guys’ clean and their game

AXE CONDITIONER

· AXE: Just Soft Conditioner leaves hair super soft

AXE STYLING PRODUCTS

· AXE Messy Look Paste gives hair a messy, just-out-of-bed look

· AXE Spiked-Up Look Putty gives hair hold without all the hard

· AXE Clean-Cut Look Pomade gives guys a polished look without appearing wet

· AXE Shaggy Look Cream gives longer manes an easy-going look

AXE is setting out to prove to men that their lack of attention to hair care and styling is a major turnoff to us women, and conducted a national survey, which led to some pretty interesting results. Basically, guys are mostly clueless when it comes to what women find acceptable and attractive (are you surprised?). The study shows that while “Only 29 percent of guys think hair is very important when it comes to attracting a girl, two-thirds (63 percent) of girls say that guys with bad hair don’t understand that their hair makes a negative impression on girls.”

Here’s some other interesting factoids we learned last night:

“Most girls (72 percent) think guys do not know how to style their hair to its full potential, but 85 percent of guys think their hair is pretty good.”

And: (Check out this – first-ever for eBeautyDaily.com – live-action commentary with additional Axe factoids!)

To have your chance to win one of these five hair sets, tell me the scariest thing your man has ever done to his hair…and how these girl-approved items will help him. (Guys are welcome to enter as well!) Deadline is December 24.

back when we were dating (it was the 80’s) he got a perm.

My hubby could really use this :)

  4. Brandlyn says:

He shaved his old head one summer and his hair grew back in a really odd way. He will never shave his head again and any product that can help his poor hair would come in handy.

  5. Linda Haberman says:

    Hubby would like this.

  6. oasis says:

So there was this one time that I was over at my best friend’s and she had just got this ridiculously overpriced hair iron and at the time I hadn’t had a haircut in a long while so she said that I should have a try and maybe it would “help with the ladies”. And I swear she nearly set my hair on fire, that was a scary experience. I looked in the mirror and I thought, wow, that’s really emo. Not quite sure if that’s girl-approved or not though. I’d prefer over-the-counter hair products to frying my follicles

  7. Jody says:

The scariest thing the husband ever did to his hair was to go to a new stylist right before he started a new job and the girl cut him down to almost nothing. She used an electirc razor on his entire head and gave me him a terrible buzz cut.

  8. Karen Gonyea says:

My hubby’s hair is pretty scary everyday !!!

  9. Rosanne Morrison says:

He set the setting on the shaver to 0 rather than 3 and was bald in parts

  10. Karen Gonyea says:

My hubby really really really could use this.

  11. Tatjanna says:

My Husband has AMAZING hair! but it took some learning to get it that way!. His initial idea was to get it to look like Johnny depps hair in the movie secret window, once he got it there he decided to just grow it out.
Once grown out he said it gave him headaches and asked me to cut it back to mid length, with some sorrow I was about to take off about 4 inches when I realized there was a HUGE rat underneath at the nape of his neck. I tried all I could to get that sucker out, and for over an hour I pulled strand after strand out! I ended up taking 8 inches of hair out and teaching him that you hjave to brush the underside too!
It’s grown back now and lesson has been learned!

  12. Karen Gonyea says:

    My husband NEEDS this :)

  13. Linda Haberman says:

This would be great for hubby.

  14. Betty says:

Not sure why, but mine occasionally didn’t like the way his hair was at the moment and decided he could wash it in the sink. Always looks terrible, maybe the shampoo is still in there or he tried to use something other than shampoo. yuck, just get in the shower and do it right.

  15. Doreen says:

My guy used way too much gel and had stiff hair….yech. The AXE Clean-Cut Look Pomade would help.

  16. tiffany pettey says:

this would be good for my husband…their body sprays are great he needs this

  17. Linda Haberman says:

    Hubby’s hair is sooo thick.

  18. Linda Haberman says:

    Great prize for hubby.

  19. Carol Drury says:

my husband’s hair is thinning so he does a lot to keep it in great condition but sometimes the hair cuts he gets are not to my liking – I actually wish he would get it cut a bit shorter and it would look thicker

  20. Karen Gonyea says:

My hubby has very thick coarse hair, he could use this to smooth it :)

  21. Karen Gonyea says:

My hubby and my son could share this :)

he used to have a mullet!

  23. Karen Gonyea says:

  28. Julie Terry says:

My husband keeps his hair cut short, almost all the way shaved off, because he is the military. Once while he was on leave he let it grow out, his hair grows quickly, it was a frizzy mess, when it was time for him to go back to work. I made him wear a hat everywhere we went.

  29. cheryl f says:

Mine shaved his head, at first I was shocked but now I like it , he goes back and forth now between hair and no hair.

My hubby could really use some good products.

  31. GiGi says:

He had a blad shaven head with colored braided extentions hanging on to the few strands he did have!Only in New York

These products would give him a clean anf professional look. We have to slowly shy him away from the colored extentions.

  36. JenniferR says:

My man put his hair in a ponytail and it just looked silly! He doesn’t have the right face to have a ponytail. I quickly yanked it out!

I cut my husbands hair so it always looks good but I’m sure this will make him smell good too

  38. Vicki Wurgler says:

He used some of my hair cream which made his hair all crunchy

  39. Wanda says:

The worst thing? Letting his hair grow too long. His face is full and he looks icky with long locks! If he had some of these AXE products, which he knows are used by the sharpest guys, he would be more likely to maintain a stylish cut and be proud of his hair. Thanks for the giveaway!

  40. Kerri Reed says:

My boyfriend accidentally turned his hair orange when he used the wrong coloring product. Hilarious!

  41. Annie G says:

My hubby could really really use this :)

My guy likes to wear a “Sunday School hairdo”, so the AXE Clean-Cut Look Pomade would be fantastic!
What’s the worst thing he’s ever done to his hair? He didn’t do it; the Boot Camp barber did. Not a pretty site.

  44. Leann H Swinnney says:

My dh let our daughter cut his hair when she was a teenager. He needs these products to replace the medicinal shampoo he uses now.

  45. Maricia says:

My fiance’ put a relaxer in his hair and then had it fingerwaved so that he can look like James Brown for a costume party. He looked absolutely ridiculous!

    my bf shaved his head

  47. Brenda S. says:
