Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all have a magnificent Turkey Day! I am elbow deep in turkey carcasses and gravy and will be for the rest of the day. Don’t forget to get dressed and put your makeup on or you will be at the table looking like a hag, like I sometimes am when I miss my morning beauty window on the holidays.
Have a great day!

OK, I just have to say that while I usually enjoy reading your blog, that last comment was a little overboard. I love wearing makeup as much as the next person and I worship at the altar of Sephora too – but to imply that every woman will look like a hag if she forgets to put on her makeup? Wow. that’s too much – that’s no better than what most of the cosmetics companies would have you believe. I may feel better and more confident when I wear my makeup, but the idea that every woman is a hag without it – well, that’s certainly not the mindset I want my daughter to grow up with.
Sorry to offend, M – but I have found myself far too often in the midst of the holiday goodness surrounded by people all festive and dressed up – and I have not had the time to hardly get out of my jammies with all of the prep work. It is now a priority for me to get MY beauty stuff taken care of in the morning, before getting into the kitchen, so I don’t look like I just rolled out of bed all day. No offense meant at all.
See, now when you put it like that, I understand – heck, I’ve been there, done that and bought the T-shirt. I just wish you’d phrased it that way to begin with. I hate the feeling that everyone else is done up to the nines while I’ve hardly had time to brush my hair, much less put on my face. But to compare that with hag-dom – well, perhaps a bit much. I really hate the idea that we have to have all our makeup on in order to be presentable (even though I feel that way myself at times). thanks -
Thats what I get for trying to whip out a Happy Thanksgiving post really quickly while putting my makeup on pre-cook time on Thanksgiving Day. Thanks for coming back and for taking the time to comment, M – you don’t have to agree with me all the time, I appreciate you regardless.
