So, I was gone all last week on a 7 day cruise without phone or internet. I thought I would die without those modern conveniences, but as it turns out, it was pretty friggin awesome. :) I might mention there were no kids involved either – just my fabulous hubby, tons of free food and expensive drinks. Aaaaaaah.
I learned a few things on this cruise:
1. You really can find incredible jewelry bargains in the Caribbean. But the bargains still aren’t cheap. Gamble well.
2. I really don’t care if I go back to Jamaica again.
3. Don’t buy YSL mascara in the duty free store and think you’re gonna like it. Two tubes for the price of one is only good if the mascara isn’t old (don’t tell my hubby I wasted 50 bucks).
4. Buy all the Touché Eclat you can find at a 2 for 1 price.
5. Don’t ever ride a Sea Doo in the ocean – it is just not fun.
6. I super duper love the sunscreens from Ahava! Keep them around in all SPF ranges from 15-50!
7. Definitely take the opportunity to swim with the dolphins if you find one. It is well worth the price.
8. Do not think you can wrap your digital camera up in a Ziploc bag and have it survive anywhere near the ocean.
9. I *heart* all of my wonderful coworkers in the Beauty & Style channel. Thanks so much for everything! xoxox (I didn’t really learn this, but it seemed like a good time to give thanks)
Ill leave you with that, as I batten down the hatches for the anti-dolphin swimming people to come by. :) And Ill get right on back to beauty and to some better blogging habits if it kills me (or causes me to lose my other job!!)!
Hope you all are doing great and having a lovely summer! xoxox

Can you swim with “wild” dolphins? or only trained dolphins?
I mean I know you can swim with either, but is it safe?
I dunno, but I would LOVE the opportunity to find out.
Id do it in a second if I could find a nice little pod of wild dolphins anywhere near me.
there’s nothing quite like being ripped apart by an animal you think is friendly.
I think I would still take the risk. I am stupid like that.
lol
Welcome Back CJ. Missed you lots. Glad to hear you had fun and learned new stuff :). *mwah*
Oh thanks for the great post. I laughed out loud! When I was in the bahamas on a photo shoot, we got the chance to ’swim with the dolphins’. I was all for it until they told us that these beautiful creatures weigh 3,000 lbs. each. gulp! We also got a mommy and her baby dolphin.. soooo cute! The baby dolphin kept swimming up to the underwater camera man and pushing his camera around! He was so afraid mommy would come after him but she never did. Baby dolphin sure was having fun with him!
We had the dominant male in our group - he was HUGE! But so sweet! There was a mama and baby swimming around too - so cute! Definitely a don’t miss thing to do. I hope life is good Elke! xox
Welcome back! I hope you feel rejuvenated and refreshed. I would love to go swimming with the dolphins! That picture of you is too cute.
It sounds like you had a great time
We’re sure glad you’re back though!
OMG, C, I am SOOO jealous! Dolphins are so fab and that is a very cute picture:)
A picture worthy of National Geographic publication! Did you actually ziplock your camera and try it underwater? I’ve always wanted to do that…somehow you think it would be water-proof, huh?
Welcome back!
I’ve always wanted to swim with the dophins, and seeing this photo makes me want to do it more. Moving it up my travel to-do list!
what a lovely vacation! and yes, touche eclat is just so inexpensive in the airport!
Fun Post! Sounds like you had a marvelous vaca. Don’t rule out Jamaica. Did you go to Ocho Rios? We did a cruise to several ports including Ocho Rios a couple years ago and we loved it so much we rented the Emerald Seas Villa the following year. It was absolutely gorgeous as well as amazing food, view, staff…
glad you’re back. sounds like you had an amazing time!!!
