Jenny Craig Update: Week 4

September 19, 2007 by Christina Jones

Oy, I am so tired. Nothing to do with the diet, just more work on my plate than hours in the day to do it. The diet is going well, though admittedly, I am already finding myself groaning a little at my cuisine choices 4 weeks in. There are a few items that Jenny Craig offers though that I haven’t tried, so when my ordering time comes up next, in another week or so, I am going to venture out of the basic food offerings if I can. I had a salisbury steak with potatos, peas and carrots tonight and I really thought about sticking that patty on a bun with a little ketchup, lettuce and tomato instead of potatoes, peas and carrots. Man, I do love me a good hamburger! But the salisbury steak was quite good, so all is well. It’s the meat I like more than anything (well, I AM in cattle country, after all). And it sure is easy. :)

Elliptical Machine and Jenny Craig are going to get me skinnier or kill me! :)I had my weekly consultation with the Jenny Craig counselor this afternoon, and it went well. Rebecca is as sweet as she can be, and I know I can rattle on a little during those meetings – I guess that is the way of the blogger – we can go on and on sometimes about nothing, no? LOL Anyway, last week at our meeting my goal was to integrate some exercise into my mundane computer chair butt, and I started off easy – 10 minutes on the elliptical machine I bought in January, 3 days a week. Well, I almost made it. I went 5 minutes for the first and third day, and 15 on the second – thats almost good. But not quite good enough – so I committed to doing it right this time – a small baby step kind of a goal, but it will work for me. I also set an ambitious 3 pound goal for this week.

I found out this morning that I am going to be heading to Toronto to work in a real office for a week Oct. 1 through the 5th, so I chatted with Rebecca a little bit about that, and we will come up with a strategy to deal with that next week at our meeting, as I don’t see myself dragging a suitcase full of dry ice and food up there. But, staying in a hotel, it makes it a little difficult to cruise the pantry anyway, so it won’t be too big a deal – except for the necessary Tim Horton’s coffee – but maybe I’ll go small instead of big. Who knows. :)

All in all it was a good week this week. I lost 2 pounds and it is “that time” that we women don’t lose weight very readily, so 2 pounds is something to speak of. Grand total of 13 – so far the Jenny Direct program is getting a big thumbs up from me – great food, and exquisitely convenient. I would love to hear from anyone else who might be going through this struggle and especially if you are doing Jenny Craig too, so speak up! :)

How come you can’t get a large coffee? Or are you the “can i have coffee with my sugar” type? heh

hello Christina, i’, so happy for you. if only JC has a Philippine version. ;-) it think you found the right program, if JC can slim down Kirstie Ally (is my spelling right?), they can slim down anybody else!
    — you know that woman opposite John Travolta in “Look who’s talking”. i saw her on Oprah (maybe a very late feed in one of those cable channels) talking about JC, it was remarkable.

  3. Hsien – def. MUST HAVE a latte. Large preferably – 2 or 3 even more preferably. :)

Glo – GREAT to see you! I hope you are well! Yes Kirstie Alley is their spokesperson, and Valerie Bertinelli (who I adore) is currently repping them too. Great stuff – I hope I can trim my fat ___ down too. :)

I too am doing Jenny Craig for a 2nd time in my life. 1st time I wasn’t so into it and took forever loosing 30lbs. Life happens & a medical ailment brings be back again because I know it works. Behavior modification. I maintained the same weight for 6 out of 10 years. Thyroid problems do not help one’s weight ever. Anyway, food is good, better than before and the consultant I have is “real” like me! Good luck and keep on losin’!

  5. Hey Beth – so nice to see you, thanks for saying hi! Best of luck to you, and I am so glad to hear you liked JC enough to come back for a second time. I hope I don’t have to come back a 2nd time – but… LOL Take care and keep in touch!

  6. Keep it Up! My sister lost 60 lbs. on Jenny Craig and has kept it off for 4 years.
I was just like you about the exercise…I tell myself daily (for the last 14 years) that all I have to do is walk on the treadmill 20 minutes a day. Write it down and put it in front of your face next to you monitor.

I have been reading all about Jeny Craig and other diets that are on offer out there.

Sure it is hard to lose weight through less calorie intake and exercise aswell..

I went to the website http://www.dietplansforlife.com after a friend of mine reccomended it. Well she didnt have to, i literally squeezed it out of her!

she was about the same size as me 14stone( 5f 5) about 6 months ago. She went to university and stayed in halls for the first year, anyway cut a long story short, i saw her last week after 6 months. She looks like a stick!!

Aparenty she hadnt suffered because you are encouraged to eat fruit and veg to not go hungry, the diet plans load you up with all the right protien, carbs and so on..

Ive lost quite a lot too, even though i cheated a few times.
I have nothing against other websites, but i just want to put a smile on all you peoples faces reading this, if you want to lose weight that is.
