I had the opportunity to try a few samples from j.f. lazartigue over the weekend and wanted to report in with my thoughts. Along with the samples I received a copy of their catalog which is really nice with lots of hair care tips and information along with really thorough listings of their dozens of available hair products and treatments. j.f. lazartigue is a prestige brand, available through Neiman Marcus and easily available through Amazon online. I tried their Moisturizing Shampoo, which was really nice, very foamy. I am aware that “foaminess does not a good shampoo make,” but I know that lots of other people judge shampoos by their lather, and this one has great lather and a nice mild scent.
I also tried the Moisturizing Mask, which actually went on before the shampoo, on slighly damp hair. I waited the prescribed 20 minutes then continued on with my shampoo. At the end I used the Moisturizing Conditioner, and it was nice as well. Overall, my hair felt very good afterwards, very moisturized and it styled just perfectly – and although my hair is so thick that it never gets weighed down with product, I think these products would not weigh down even the finest baby hair.
They also carry a huge variety of treatments for specific problems such as dandruff and buildup, as well as styling products, sun protection for your hair and semipermanent hair colorings. Fun stuff, be sure and check out j.f. lazartigue next time you are at Neiman’s, I know I will!

Check out what others are saying about this post...[...] I have written here a few times about shampoos – and the fact that I am not that impressed with a thick, rich lather – this is because I know that the thick rich lather just means that the shampoo is chock full of something called Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). Look at your shampoo bottle now – go ahead. Get your spectacles out, the writing is tiny. Yes, its that ingredient just after Water, meaning that besides water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate is the next most prominent ingredient in your shampoo. Is that bad? Nah. Is it necessary to have SLS in your shampoo? Nope. Only if you judge your shampoo by the great (or not so great) amount of lather it works up into. [...]
