There is kind of a neat slideshow/article about makeup artist, Linda Cantello at the NYT.com where she talks about some of her favorite products and how she uses them. Some of the highlights:
Cantello’s favorite products are ones that lend themselves to a bit of alchemy. M.A.C. Pigments ($20 at Henri Bendel) ‘‘are such a great idea,’’ she says, adding: ‘‘I mix them with moisturizer and use them on the face, or apply them over eye shadow. They have an amazing vibrancy.’’
Her friend the chemist Mark Potter mixes up a special moisturizer for her that is based on a cream he developed for a severe-burn victim. ‘‘I only use it on models’ skin if they really need it,’’ Cantello says. ‘‘The girls look a bit surprised when I whip out a big tub that says ‘burn cream’ on it, but they always end up raving about it.’’ The closest thing to Cantello’s custom concoction is from the Potter formulated Cosmedicine line. This Hydra Healer moisturizer is $70 at Sephora.
And be sure not to miss the “third eye” spa treatment she likes – sounds like old fashioned water torture to me. LOL
What do you think – does it sound relaxing to you?
