Mineral Nail Infusion by Bare Escentuals

I luuuuurve Bare Escentuals – you already know that. I was so excited to see that they are launching nail polishes, and just couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. Well, I did – and my reaction is mostly great. The quality of the polish is extremely good – it stays on, rock hard, beautifully. I have worn it now for almost 2 weeks, with absolutely no maintenance in between – and there truly is no chipping. None. I have to say, it is the strongest nail polish I have ever used.

My beef? Yeah, I have one. Just one. The colors. They are just not great for me – they will be great for someone else with a warmer skin tone than I have, but not me. The gold color, shown above on the model on the packaging, looks like a pretty sheer gold (not my color, but sheer as shown would not be terrible on me), but it is not sheer at all. It is an opaque yellow color that franky is horrid on my cool skin. That’s ok, there are other colors- the white is gorgeous on a french manicure, and I thought the peach color would be a sheer french color – but its not. It is brighter than I expected, and totally opaque as well. The purple is a great color for me though. I would have much rather seen a sheer gold, a sheer french peach and maybe a dark red as is all the rage right now.

This collection is available at Bare Escentuals boutiques and by calling 1-800-227-3990. I want you all go go buy this collection, so Leslie Blodgett will be inspired to come out with some other colors! Ha! For me?? ;) The cost for the collection of 4 colors is $25 – not a bad deal at all. And like I said, the quality is perfect, just what you would expect from Bare Escentuals!

Let me know if you have tried Mineral Nail Infusion – as always, I am very interested in your opinions. And Leslie Blodgett, if you happen to stumble by here, PLEASE make some more colors – I love the quality, and would love to have a great big collection of colors!!

Same thoughts here! The colors? What??? I would probably go for the gold.. but the purple??? And funny how here, the colors are stronger on that it looks in the packaging, not the normal other way around. Yep, as soon as they get their colors down (or get a top nail specialist to consult for them) if this product truly lasts for 2 weeks? They surely would have a winner…. PS What makes their nail polish different than others? Is minerals used in this as well? :)

  2. See, I would go for the purple over the gold myself. LOL It takes all kinds, doesn’t it??

Yes, they have “minerals” in them – but to be quite honest, I haven’t dug out just which ones. My primary concern was how the polish held up, and yes, it has held up EXTREMELY well. I am not sure I care which minerals are in it. LOL Is that bad?? :)

The colors do look off. Wouldn’t go with anything I have.

Hey, I just wanted to give you a tip that might be helpful… try a layer of the tightey whitey, then put a coat of the purple, peach or gold over top – it creates a more sheer look. Happy manicuring!
