My Current Love – Relastin

Have you heard about Relastin yet? Sure you have, you read it on my current skin care routine list last week. LOL Well, you did!
I have been using Relastin for about a month now, and I really am loving this product alot. Currently in the line are two products, the Skin Revitalizer and the Eye Silk. They are both awesome. Used twice a day, Relastin stimulates the gene for elastin production which shut down when you were (*gasp*) a teenager. Here is what the company says:
Relastin takes a revolutionary approach to the aging process by working with your body’s own skin cells to promote the formation of elastin. Using a patent pending Zinc Firming Complex™, this formula penetrates deep within the skin to restore lost elasticity. Clinical results show skin treated with Relastin contains more functional elastin than before. So skin doesn’t just look firmer… it IS firmer – with diminished fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging.
The Relastin formula is also designed to seal in moisture and improve skin’s brightness and texture. The result is skin that looks more youthful, radiant, and resilient.
Now my thoughts – on the Skin Revitalizer – I love this. It absorbs quicky and is a fairly light feeling cream. Your skin is not left greasy at all. This product holds in moisture as well as firms, and you have to love that.
The Eye Silk – I am an eye cream addict, and have been for a VERY long time. This one is very different. Have you tried Smashbox’s primer? This eye cream feels silicone-y like that primer does, and it immediately minimizes fine lines around your eyes, as well as penetrates and treats your skin for the long term.
The only downside to this product is that it lacks a sunscreen, so you absolutely must add that to your routine. I use mineral makeup, so as long as my makeup is on, I don’t worry about it, but if I am going out without makeup (yeah, I do that, more than I should), I definitely have to add sunscreen.
The Skin Revitalizer is $59, and the Eye Silk is $69, but on the Relastin site you can order a 30 day supply for just under $90, plus shipping charges. In fact, Relastin is only available on their site or via their phone: (800) 882-1695. This is a deal, and well worth a try, but watch out for the fine print – if you don’t want to join an auto ship program, be sure and let them know before your 30 days run out. But, I think you will like this, it is certainly well worth a try. Have you tried Relastin? Let me know!

I have Relastin on order; it could be here in my frozen shut mailbox. I was going ot send it back becasue I just ordered the Pearlier skin line from HSN. Borgehese makes this line and they have their honey line (Face to Face) and a black rice line (my name for it) and I’m about to lanch into that.
I recently tried Biotque and I wasn’t impressed. I also ordered Bellaplex and sent it back. I thought Relastin would be the same but if you say it works then I’ll try it. I better look 29 by tomorrow or it is going back, too.
Did you notice I finally figured out how to get to your other blogs.
Betty
Wow Betty! Nice to see you venturing out! Now, let me warn you, you are not going to look 29 by tomorrow – if you find that product, you better let me know!
No really do you love the Relastin? I know you are a good bit younger than I am so you still have hope. I’ve just come to the conclusion that keeping my skin as moist as possible at this point short of lazer to stimulate collegan is all I can do. I haven’t considered the lazer seriously because of the cost and the
questionable outcome. I’ve heard it hurts, too.
If you get more Relastin or keep the first bottle you are signed up and then they charge you the full price for each item. So it isn’t an inexpensive proposition.
By the way, Philosophy (via QVC)had their spun mineral makeup in a kit on a special value and I ordered it. I’ll let you know how it works.
Also, I’ve strayed from mineral foundations in the winter. I bought Countess Isserlyn by Alexandria De Markoff and it works great in the cold winter months. It give great coverage and really hydrates. Have you ever tried their rather expensive skin care products? I don’t think they have many new ingrediants but really most of the creams at my age don’t help much. Like I said the more hydrating the better for me.
Betty
Yeah, I finally figured out how to look at other beauty categories. Wonders never cease, do they?
Betty
I like the Relastin very much, and think it is definitely worth a try. I know it isn’t inexpensive, but if it works, its worth it. And if it has a good return policy, all the better if it doesn’t work for you.
I haven’t used DeMarkoff in years – perhaps Ill look into it. I am proud of you for figuring this blog stuff out – it isn’t so hard, just go clicking.
Funny, I just received my Relastin and I planned to send it back but I may try it. I just put the cream on the back of my hand…not very hydrating but the serum which is obviously loaded with silacone sure would make a great foundation base.
The De Markoff I’m using comes in a compact. I put it on with a damp sponge and man oh man does it cover. Next winter I may go to the whipped cream based product or the liquid in a bottle. I need the hydration but I bet it is too much in the summer…it is so hot here that’s wy minerals are best for summer for me.
Hey, I just received my Egyptian Magic cream today. I haven’t used it yet except on my elbows but I hear it is the rage in Hollywood. Just Google it and see what you think. It is made primarily with beeswax, jelly and so forth. It is touted a little like snake oil but it is worth a try.
Off to be bad and eat some enchiladas…it’s cold
so I’m telling myself it is ok.
Hi Y’all -
I’ve been using strong copper peptides from Skin Biology (www.skinbiology.com) for around two months and am seeing pretty amazing results so far. The site is vast with tons of information and it can be a little confusing where to start and what to order. As I already do a weekly glycolic peel, I started with what they call Super CP serum. For around $50.00 you get a good 4-5 months worth. It’s a steal and it really does smoothe and tighten and slowly lessen any scarring you might have.
As it seems copper peptides work by encouraging collegen production, when I heard that Relastin encourages eleastin production I thought I’d give it a try and add it to my routine.
Skin still slowly but surely tightening, but hard to know if the Relastin is really adding benefits, or if it’s the copper peptides on their own. I’m only about 1 1/2 weeks on the Relastin, so I’ll check back in when the containers are empty and file a report. Meanwhile, I am absolutely SOLD on the Skin Biology copper peptide serum and will NEVER be without it.
Run – don’t walk – over to their site and do some reading. There’s some serious science behind this product line and it’s worth doing the reading to figure out which products might benefit you best.
At the two month point the results are just kicking in – can’t wait until 6 months when the scientist who formulates this product says real results start showing!
Christina,I adore the relastin, but you say on the relastin site you can get it for $9.00???????What end of that site were you reading?
Ooh thats odd -something happened to that post along the way! Thanks for pointing it out – fixing it now – it should say $90, I am pretty sure.
I am glad you love the Relastin – my mother is now using it and just loves it as well. Its a great product!
I have been a skincare addict since I was a teenager because of acne that I had, and I tried everything-now almost thirty I can say that you really have to becareful most skincare products don’t deliver-even expensive ones because they are all packaging
however I bought relastin somedays ago, and I just saw your website-
it really does feel different, I’m looking fwd to the results, it feels good-
I also have to let you know about Dermalogica
it is amazing
literally whenever I use the Dermalogica line I get comments on my skin
I use at least 7/8 of their products almost on a daily basis
at whatgreatskin.com they sell it for much less
and it is high grade premimum quality stuff
I learned about it several years ago when I had a facial, and am completely loyal
because I tried everything
Dermalogica + Restalin are good
Dr.Perricone’s books on skin are very good
must reads for people who are concerned and at times obsessed with skin-such as myself
for example in his new book he mentions that stress doesnt take the same toll on men as it does on women
alot of men can like literally be suffering in a third world country and still look great
not kidding-
I was first introduced to Alexandria de Markoff makeup by a sales lady while I was considering trying Derma Blend makeup for my rosacea…that condition sometimes called “adult acne ” in which the skin turns bright red usually not breaking out in bumps. Bless that sales lady that told me deMarkoff covers better than Derma Blend! I have used de Markoff ever since and it is the only makeup which covers from the start of the day to the end no matter how red I am that day. It does not dry your skin like the medicated prescription creams which calm rosacea while not covering it up. I have tried ALL the makeup formulas; the liquid. the liquid matte, the makeup compact cream with sponge, as well as the whipped in the jar. I can tell you without reservation that the liquid make up, NOT to be confused with the Matte Liquid, is the most outstanding to me. The loose powder is also worth the difference over other loose powders. The compact powder is not better than cheaper pressed powder, but the loose powder suprisingly IS in it’s own class. De Markoff is expensive but a little goes such a long way that I bet in the end it’s NOT more money per year than any other good makeup. The finish it gives your skin is stunning summer and winter while it seems to protect from sunburn.
It appears as if it is sheer even close up under a light and probably comes in more colors than any other makeup. My daughter and I both work in dentistry so when I say it looks sheer even under a bright light, I mean a dental light and it doesn’t get brighter than that! I’ve tried the brush on mineral makeups and others that promise to cover red shin, freckles. and flaws, but they only disguise my Red skin for a couple hours before I’m showing Red. I’ve tried all the green and yellow tints out there, too , and none work like de Markoff does. I am fair skinned and so is my daughter who doesnit have rosacea but does have sensitive skin. Last Summer she completed Aesthetician school. This is great for good skin, too!!! I wear #92 1/2 liquid makeup and she wears #81 1/2. If you get a sample in a department store it will seem tiny, but watch it last 2 to 4 weeks! Your shin will look soft and smooth as a rose petal, too!
I have been trying to find the green concealer in your line. Macy’s in Baton Rouge did have it, but have discontinued the product. Could you please tell me where to locate it. It is really great to conceal the redness in my complexion.
Relastin was the first product that interested me when I saw it advertised on TV. I needed firming to my face and I liked the ingredients and the copper added to the product (pretty copper top too). But it is pricey for me. I decided to try L’Oreal’s Skin Genesis (the serum and the lotion) and boy is that a miracle product! It stimulates collagen and elastin as well and gives you a glow to your skin. My skin feels tight and baby soft. I look about 9-10 years younger (my husband thinks so too). I’ve been using the product for months now. It’s much cheaper these products and worth a try. It’s worth every penny. My mom and my husband uses it, it works so well. Who wouldn’t want to look like they had some plastic surgery done when they haven’t?
Relastin launches a new product called Ultra Emollient and it promises to offer great moisture, wrinkle reduction and excellent long term benefits. I believe all these things because i have had a chance to use it for a short period of time. the texture is different from the other products as it doesn’t feel as much like silicon and really feels like a light night cream. It contains all the same zinc firming complex ingredients as the flagship eye silk but also contains vitamin c for the anti-oxidant effects on the skin.

Hello everyone, I too have been using Relastin skin revitalizer for a couple of months now and agree one hundred percent. It took me about a week to get used to the eye silk as it didn’t feel like a traditional lotion but I have to say that I love it and it really works. The skin revitalizer works well also and I have really seen an improvement in my skin. One thing I do continue to have issues with and this is entirely a health problem is puffy eyes. I have narrowed this down to salt and water retention and have discovered that if I limit my salt intake to zero at night then I wake up with eyes that are fairly normal. I am working hard to have this be consistent from day to day and at that time the true test of eye silk will come about. The skin around my eyes has been so stretched and damaged that I need all the help i can get to get it to spring back.
I also wanted to mention two more things about Relastin.
First they have an amazing new product for people who have skin that is a little more dry and it is called Ultra Emollient, you can find it here: http://www.relastin.com/products/3-Relastin-Ultra-Emollient-new
They are running a special right now on purchasing all three products for one low price, it is basically a buy two get one free deal. Here are the specifics:

If anyone tries the Ultra Emollient I would be very interested in what you think. Take care and happy beauty..

Now if you had to choose Kinerase or Relastin, which one would you choose? Any ideas?
