Olay Vitamins

olay vitaminsI know some people balk at the use of vitamin and mineral supplements, but I am not one of them. Sure, it would be great if we could eat such a well rounded diet that we were sure to get the nutrients that our bodies need, but I know I don’t – do you? I am not even gonna tell you what all I take, it is a ridiculous number of pills, and all told, it is a ridiculous price that I pay for them all.

I was really excited to see that Olay has jumped into the wellness and “beauty from the inside out” market with their line of vitamins and supplements. The item pictured, Total Effects, contains a multivitamin and antioxidants to combat aging all in a convenient daily dose pack. They also carry a Daily Energy Pack and two Multivitamins – one for women under age 50, and one for women over 50. As my current stock of vitamins runs out here in a week or two, I am going to sit down and take note of what I can eliminate and replace with Olay Vitamins.

They can be found in your local drugstore in the vitamin and supplements aisle, or at drugstore.com.

It should be noted here that if you take other supplements, look at what they offer compared to what the Olay Vitamins do, and make sure you don’t get too much of anything that can damage the body you are trying to make better!

Although I don’t take Olay brand vitamins, I love the daily dose packs! They make it so much easier to take your supplements compared to having several bottles to open each time. I feel so much better since I’ve been taking good quality supplements this year.

  2. SP says:

Okay, can you give me some idea how to swallow pills? I can’t for the life of me swallow anything bigger than the tip of my little finger. They simply don’t want to go down!

  3. Erika says:

I’ve been taking Olay vitamins for a couple of years now. I love the daily packets, which are nice for travelling!

  4. aynge says:

It’s “balk” not “bawk.” I’ve been using their vitamins for a couple of years now. Good quality.

  5. LOL thanks for the correction – thats not a word I have ever spelled, just spoken, guess I should have looked it up. :)

  6. Gail Ables says:

    *Bawk bawk*

    Christina’s callin’ the chickens.

    ;p

  7. Elsa says:

Christina, that’s so funny that you take those!

I have been taking the Total Effects for about a year now. I tried switching back to a normal multivitamin for about a month because taking 4 pills can be a hassle, but I find I feel much better on the Olay vitamins.

Olay actually partnered with a decent nutritional supplement producer to make these, and they contain most of what Perricone (N.V. Perricone of the Perricone Plan) et. al recommend you take anyway. Also, at $20 (or is it $30?) a month, they are MUCH less than the pricy versions sold at sephora (or the cost of buying all of the health and beauty supplements individually…whew!).

It’s nice to see someone else out there actually uses these.

  8. Gail – LOL, we don’t hear from you much anymore, but when we do, its a gem (NOT) LOL :) j/k, of course, good to see you!

Welcome, Elsa – I am getting ready to trade in my 92 individual supplement bottles for Olay and see how they do. I know I will save a pile of money, for sure, Ill let you know how much when I sit down for the big inventory. :) Good to see you, hope to see you back!! :)

  9. Gail Ables says:

Well, thanks Christina, it’s good to be seen. :)

I wanted to comment to SP, who can’t swallow pills. I know there are a lot of people who have that problem. In my vitamin pack there is one tablet that is kind of big and tends to stick in my craw a lil bit, so what I do is I drink some water and then I hold that tab on my tongue until the coating softens some and it gets kind of slick and then I drink more water to wash it down. I drink a large glass of water when I take my 6 supplements, sometimes more. I don’t really have any great tips for you, though, except that they’ll go down easier if you’re more relaxed. I wonder if there’s a good quality liquid? Or how about a powder mixture that you can mix with a beverage?

  10. Julie Avalos says:

I can not find olay pack vitamins anywhere!
    Is their a reason why??
Total effect pack…Can you please email tell hoe to buy this vitamins…

  11. Theresa says:

The Olay Vitamins have been discontinued. The concept was but, but the product quality was marginal.

I recommend AmeriSciences Women’s Master Multi Vitamins. They offer a 28 pack daily supply for about $65. They are a expensive becuase they are premium products and co-developed by NASA.
you can contact me directly fomore information… I actually stare taking them afer a famous doctor recommended them to me and now I distribute the products as they are only sold through independent distributors.

I had break-outs quite a bit and my skin has improved since taking them. Also, I feel less hungry. I guess when your bodis is getting the nutrients it needs you don’t feel a need to much on bad foods!

  12. Carol says:

Can anyone tell me WHY Olay discontinued the Olay Total Effects 7x vitamins? They were Great!

  13. Dinah says:

So sad just like everything else it seems. Find something that is great, use it, love what it does for you and…… there it goes. So now let me know what is out there on the market that is truely comptable to this product. Please

  14. Ginny says:

So disappointed in Olay for discontinueing the vitamins. What the **** ?????? Now what ?? any recommendations anyone ?????

  15. Lynne Gaylor says:

I am also dismayed and wondering why they have discontinued these. I really liked them, and I can swear that they really did improve the quality of my skin. What now????

  16. heidi says:

I called olay, to see why they discontinued the vitamins. (I loved them!!) They didnt have an answer but the company that makes them is called nature made, you can by a seperate bottle of each vitamin and make youre “own” olay vitamins, thats what I am going to do. They sell the brand at walmart- hope this helps someone.

  17. tracy says:

Which bottle ofthe nature made brand do you use to substitute for it?

  18. Tina says:

I to am dismayed that Olay no longer provides this wonderful product – I have been looking ALL over for a sub that would equal to the Olay pack. Have not located anything, close in comparison to price or what the product offers. I will try the suggestion with the Nature Made. If anyone has any more suggestions, please post.

  19. I have been looking in all the drug stores but unable to find. I love to using total effects 7, they are wonderful. I noticed a difference right away with my hair nails and skin, please tell me how I can continue to purchase. These are the only complete vit suplement that I have found to totally work for me.

  20. Model says:

Well, it is obvious why they discontinued…drug and cosmetic company pay off… if we had those we wouldnt need all those STUPID pills or creams at $65 a piece or all those dumm meds that have copay that is over the top. I am veryyyy knowledgable of herbal industry, medicine etc etc and also the meds as I was sick a lot and it disgusts me how they let us be sick and ugly for the sake of earning money when they KNOWWWW how to solve the problem very cost effectively.

  21. sarah says:

I too am totally disappointed – anytime I’d find them I would buy 3 or 4 boxes at a time…just ran out and now they’re not to be found anywhere. How disappointing. They really were fabulous! Beautiful skin, hair and nails were true to form with these vitamins. I’m now substituting my sons flinstone vitamins. Go figure. :(

  22. Pamela says:

Add me to the list! I want my Olay Vitamins BACK!

    this really sux…I loved them.

  23. Marsha says:

Me too! I am sooo disappointed. These were the only vitamins I’ve ever tried that didn’t make me nauseous. The fact that they actually did make my skin look better was just icing on the cake. Please bring them back, Olay!

  24. DeeDee says:

OMG!!! Me too, Marsha. They were the only vitamins I could take that didn’t turn my stomach. I have been tryin to locate em but with no such chance. Discontinued? Lameo and sad.

  25. Ivy says:

I am very aggravated that they discontinued these as well. I am totally freking out trying to find comprable products. I have found the CoQ10, Vitamin E, and Alpha Lipoic equivalent all by Nature Made as stated above. The only thing I can’y find is the exact equivlent of the multi-vitamin. The ones I have looked at either add or subtract something and I wnt it exact. If anyone knows please please please let me in on it. Thanks so much!!!

  26. Missy says:

And I thought I was the only being annoyed at not finding those vitamins. I have gone back to Centrum but it’s just not the same!!! :(

I am going to look into the Nature Made brand. *sigh*

  27. Kim says:

Does anyone have the list of the different Nature Made bottles you have to buy to get everything in Olay pack? PLEASE email me!

  28. Kim says:

CoQ10, Alpha Lipoic Acid with Green Tea extract and a multivitiman…that’s what I’ve found so far…seems there were 5 pills though…

  29. TMO says:

To all: I was also dismayed at the fact that Olay discontinued the vitamin: but I have found a alternate that is GREAT, and seems to work even better: it is a Multivitamin & Mineral Supplement pack (Diabetes Support Pack) by Nature’s Bounty – Advanced Prescriptive Formulas, purchased at Walgreen’s (30 day supply) that has so far it has proven to be very effective, and I love the cinnamon & chromium picolinate benefit: I suggest all give it a try – I think you will be very pleased with the result. http://www.NaturesBounty.com

  30. TMO says:

here is some additional information on the Nature’s Bounty – it shows for Diabetes: but the vitamins work with the same effects of the OLay vitamins did: advanced prescriptive formulas: multivitamin & mineral supplement support pack: from website: http://www.NaturesBounty.com
