Oscar Beauty

Here are some of the best looking people from the Academy Awards last night (IMO, of course), note the colorless lips for the vast majority of them, and the up-do’s:

Reese Witherspoon (and I couldn’t bear to cut Ryan out of the pic..LOL):

Reese is always looking fresh and beautiful!

And Sienna Miller:

Sienna Miller looks beautiful!
And Heidi Klum:

And Jessica Alba:

Ummmm…I am thinking Sienna Miller is channeling Joan Crawford with those eyebrows–not attractive at all to me. I thought Jessica Alba was stunning, and the whole package–hair, makeup, dress. Keira Knightly–thought she was beautiful, loved the color of the dress, but the dress itself didn’t work for me–I didn’t like the bust. As for Reese, I’m going to have to agree to disagree with you–thought she could have done a LOT better with the dress…and I did watch the movie, finally, Saturday night with mom and dad. I stand by my initial feelings regarding her as June…the thought of it was just wrong to me, and I felt the same through the film. I thought Joachin was fantastic, but she never really captured June to me, she just felt like Reese playing at June. To me, she is great in romantic comedy, but I don’t think she has the chops for the serious stuff, just IMHO. Chalize Theron–beautiful, as always. The dress–I could go either way on, very 80’s to me. Hilary Swank–loved the hair and the dress, she isn’t the most beautiful to me–but thought she looked great.

I thought Jennifer Lopez looked fabulous–very old-school glamour. The dress color was a little unexpected, but suited her coloring. And you know she is quietly amassing one of the best private jewelry collections in the world–think Elizabeth Taylor and Phyllis McGuire. I loved Sandra Bullock’s dress–but she looked tired, or something…her eyes looked really bad. Ziyi Zhang looked incredible–loved everything. And I thought Salma Hayek was stunning, gorgeous, fabulous–superstar Hollywood glamour–which is what the Oscars are all about.

  3. Suz – I really don’t like Sienna Miller, but she was sporting the current trends, and there was a good pic of her face available, so up it goes. Lots of people love her. I do see the Joan Crawford thing, maybe that is why I never have liked her so much. I will have to look at that. Bad eyebrows bug me.

Reese’s makeup was gorgeous I thought, and I did like her dress too actually. MUCH better than the unflattering thing she was wearing at the Globes. I think you are harboring a grudge against her now that she has played June Carter. Ha ha! Salma is always beautiful. I don’t think she could look ugly if she tried. :)

As for Keira, I hated that dress, hated her hair, and wish she would stand up straight. She always stands like she is about to cave in. Big change from the Globes, where I thought she looked amazing. LOVED the necklace though.

Sienna also makes me think Liz Taylor a la Cleopatra (of course she is nowhere near as beautiful as Taylor, IMO). Reese’s makeup was wonderful, but just good ol’ basic no-makeup makeup–clean, fresh, youthful. I know lots of people raved about the dress, I just wasn’t knocked out by it–nothing really wrong, just to me not as flawless as everyone else seemed to think.

  5. I still think you are holding a grudge. ;)

  6. I have always thought that Reese Witherspoon is beautiful and guess what she did not disappoint me at the awards and she is a first class actress as well beauty and talent now there’s not much of that in Hollywood is there

  7. I think she is adorable too. Thanks for the comment!

[...] After seeing the makeup trends at the Oscars, I am going to start showing the artist’s visions of Spring 2006, starting with Pink Sugar, by Bobbi Brown.  Bobbi’s step by step to create this look can be found at her web site, here.  A great and handy item from Bobbi for the spring is her Pink Sugar Palette (shown below), available at her website for a very affordable $50!
