As you may or may not have noticed in my
Curly Girls series last month, I have not had a hair spray that really wet my whistle in a long time. They are either too heavy, too sticky, too stiff, don’t hold, smell horrid and who knows what else.
Over the weekend I had an opportunity to try a hairspray that was new to me,
Pho Finish, by
Cibu International. This is what Cibu says about the spray:
Features:
· Bamboo extracts, which add strength and resiliance
· Extracts of Lotus flower, a long-living botanical which revtalizes hair
· Water Lily extracts, which refresh and soothe hair
· Hygroscopic substances add optimal moisture
· Vitamin B5 to stimulate and soothe
· Classic Dark Flowers Fragrance of spice and vanilla tones
Suggested Retail: $12.50 (10 oz.)
I was really impressed all around with this hair spray, which is really unusual for me. The scent is great–not strong and alcohol-y, but a nice light fragrance, that isn’t overtly feminine at all. My husband is going to like this, I am sure. The hold was good, I gave it a good test with my thick straight hair, using it as a styling aid when I rolled it into curlers, I shot some heat from the blow dryer to the whole thing for a few minutes, ran around the house for awhile to let it cool off completely, and then unrolled it and finished it off with some more spray. My hair stayed nice and soft–I could have easily brushed through it, and I am ridiculously tenderheaded. The best part was that my style actually lasted a good long time (til I went to bed anyway…), and without all of the prior preparatory work that I would normally give a curly hairstyle. All of that, combined with the very do-able price of $12.50, makes it a great spray in my book.
See the Louis Vuitton inspired packaging? Too cute! They have some other great looking styling products at Cibu that I would love to try: Check out the Mousse Lee, Sticky Rice (pomade) and the Oso Shimmer (smoothing cream). They also have a spray gel (Wok This Way) for gaining control of curls. Very worth a try!
What sites you’re visiting for fashion news? I have been searching for a while, reading large portals and finally http://morningcoffee.cjb.net becomes my daily morning mantra
Hi Janet! You can see most of my regular reads in the links section at the bottom of the far right column. Thanks for the link–that is a neat site, and one I hadn’t seen before. I sure think they need a feed from here for their site, they are missing out on some beautiful things every day! Thanks for reading, and hope to see you back soon!
Never mind the holding power. Based on the ingredients list, this hair spray must smell divine!
I LOVED the scent, it was so different–and no alcohol smell at all.
