Pre-Fashion Week – Thursday

After Shannon and Teri made it into town yesterday morning, we went to a fab and garlicky pasta lunch, then zipped off to one f my favorite cosmetic companies, 3 Custom Color Specialists, where Shannon got a makeover and an interview (that dog), and I was the videographer (ha – we will see how that turns out *soon*). 3CCS has been one of my favorite lines for quite a long time now – there is no surviving for me without their concealer pallette and clarifyer pencil. They have been staples in my bag for years. It was a huge honor to meet Trae and Chad, honestly. MUCH more on that later. We have a 38 minute video that is just too good to cut down too much. :)

Then Thursday night it was off to the Fabbies! What was supposed to originally be the awards dinner turned into the nominations party. We could have also called this “Meet the WebSnobs” but since Tina didn’t make it, it sorta lost something in the translation. Hope to see you soon, Tina! Regardless, it was truly a good time had by all! I did get to meet a few people that I have known for a while online that it was just thrilling to be able to put a face to a name and a blog. First there was Nichelle, from 55 Secret Street – what a doll she was, truly. Absolutely a charming woman! I met Lauren from Second City Style – I wish I had more time to chat with her, but hopefully there will be more time before the week is out! She reminded me very much of Wendy Piersall. I was so honored to meet Najwa Moses, from Styleaholics – what a vibrant and gorgeous creature she is (I knew she would be – she definitely did not disappoint!)! And finally, Lesley from Fashiontribes. She has always been so kind to me, and it truly was an honor to finally meet her.

This is Najwa and Lesley in this horrid picture above. I haven’t had time to do any photo editing or brightening, so this is the best we have for now. BTW, if you want to watch our adventures, you can keep an eye on my Flickr account – that is where they will show up online first. Will I see a celeb or two? No telling, but very likely. Will I be quick enough on the draw with the camera if I do? Not bloody likely, but I will try.

After that fun, we headed off to Havana’s, a delicious Cuban restaurant, where I got to see Julia from All About The Pretty (hugs!) and Erika from MakeupBag. This was a calm and delightful dinner sponsored by Total Beauty – I finally got to meet Kristen from TB, so very gracious and nice. Thanks again for the lovely dinner, Kristen and Total Beauty!!

First thing up this morning is the ribbon cutting ceremony with Brooke Shields and Candice Bushnell (author of Sex in the City – how disgustingly appropo, I know). Next item of interest is the Heart’s Truth Red Dress show. I have covered this in the past, but today is the day that you put on your red dress and wear it proudly in honor of women’s heart health. And the Red Dress show is the one where the celebrities model all of the gorgeous red dresses from the top designers. Always great fun – so keep an eye here for some pictures later, and watch your morning shows tomorrow (do they have morning shows on Sat? I have no clue…lol), as that show ALWAYS is a hit for television viewers. Fun fun. Gonna be a looooooooooooong day! Talk soon! xox

  1. What’s up with the Fabbies? They haven’t been updating the site with much news. I was still assuming that last night was supposed to be the awards ceremony. Did they announce when the awards ceremony will be now?

Also, who was there? I was so excited about being able to see the video stream, and then so disappointed that they didn’t have it after all.
