Red lips are on the rise

Now that Barack Obama has won (we won’t hide our elation), Michelle Obama has become the fashion and beauty ambassador to the nation…and it’s a nation that can’t ignore that last night, as her husband stood on stage, she was decked out in fiery, emblazened red.
Perhaps it’s to show their regal, Camelot nature – or maybe it’s a sign of strength and power. Have you ever heard the theory that red lipstick sales increase in the time of economic turmoil? Red lips evoke a sense of power in women allowing them stand bold and tall in the face of adversity. So it only makes sense that red lipstick sales are on the rise in America’s recent recession, especially amongst drug store brands like Black Radiance.
“We have seen huge increases in the sales of our red lipsticks across all formulas especially in the last two weeks as the economy has taken a strong downward turn,” explains K. MacDonald Parris, senior brand manager for Black Radiance. “We’ve seen sales go from 12 tubes a week to as high as 52 tubes a week.”

So, follow Michelle’s lead: Where some red, and change your look while still keeping your best pout forward!

I love red lipstick! Great shade shown by the way!
