Sasha Does a Bob for 2008!

I know I just had a haircut a month back but I had intended to get something shorter. I wish I had met Phoebe then. I so loved her funky, edgy hair when I first saw it during the Blogger Mixer and I had told myself, “she has got to take me to her stylist!” Yes. That’s how badly I wished to get away from my boring long locks. Gah.
Thank god for Phoebe, who did take me to her stylist over at F Salon and helped me find a fabulous hair style, I went and got “BOB-ed”. I had needed her to tell the stylist what I had wanted done and not to mention the moral support!
Rather than bore you guys with a copy heavy post on the haircut, I thought it’d be interesting to photo document the entire thing.

“Huwaaat? Cut my long locks?!?”
As you can see I tie my hair in a bun most of the time anyway so might as well cut it off, huh?

“No way! That’s how my hair looks from the back?! Eeek.”
Honestly. My hair looks more red than brown. It’s the light in the salon that made it look that, er, disastrous! But if my hair really looks that dry then twas a good thing to cut it!

“Ahhh! I can get used to this!”
So that’s how it feels like to have a paparazzi on you. Heh. Look, I didn’t even know Phoebe took a photo of me with my hair all wet. Gah. I’m the girl on the right, btw.

“Am I doing the right thing? Hmmm.”
The stylist chopped the ‘excess’ hair to a more manageable length and had it blow dried. Turned out cute but I wanted it just a lil bit shorter and less bland-looking as blunt cuts. Heh.

“Alas! Tis’ short!”
The world is lighter! Hahaha. Yea, after having had long hair since 1999 (if I remember it correctly), it certainly is a huge change for me.

So off we go to more cutting. Snip here. Snip there. Layered the tips.

“Awww. I have two Rico’s in my life now.”
Trivia: Meet Rico the boyfriend and Rico the stylist. You can guess which is which, right? Hehe. Oh, did I forget to mention that the stylist’s name is Rico, too? Well, it is! I reckon it’s fate. Heh.

“It’s taking shape!”
There you go. You can now see that it’s taking shape. We’re quite at the end of this hair escapade.

“Ta-da! All done!”
Brushing off some stray hair on my top, you can see the final outcome. Oh, didja notice that my hair is a bit longer down the front? I love that bit especially.

“Time for a kodak moment!”
I reckon this is my way to start a new year! I’ll be sporting a bob for 2008!
So, how do you guys like my new hair?

OH MY!!! big change Sasha. It’s not really really short Bob so I’m done with my heart attack… LOL. Seriously, your announcement scared me. You look beautiful no matter what. It’ll just take getting used to. I can see you trying to do ponytail then realizing the hair is not there for a few days. I did that after I got my shorter layered hairstyle…LOL
The stylist didn’t want to go any shorter cuz of my current frame. Gah. I’m still considering it, though. I must gain at least 10 lbs before I go and try a short, short bob. LOL. Yea, huge, HUGE change! I’ll miss my buns (hair!)! Thank God I’m now sporting a hairstyle that makes me look less skeletal. LOL.
Sasha – that is sooooooo cute!! And hi to Rico (boyfriend Rico, of course!)!!
Thanks, thanks! Will do! XD
It’s a bit on the long-ish side, so not really a bob in the 20s flapper girl sense … but it’s a nice look for you, although to keep its shape you’ll probably have to get a trim every 4 weeks (something I can’t afford in the US, ha!).
Thanks! Then I’m glad that I live here where I can indulge in any sort of haircut anytime and not to mention all the possible treatments. Hehe.
oh my Sasha! you look wonderful!!! i just had my long locks chopped off in aug after i’ve completed my studies and truth be told, it feels really good! a new beginning! =D
I think this cut suits you. I got the shorter version of the bob, mwihihihi!
love your hairl you look a lot younger. he he. yan pala ang bob. you may be too young to remember that baby china flick of Vilma Santos in the early 80s. that was what we call that hair cut: baby China. ha ha ha.
how nice of Rico looking like that overlooking the whole process. so supportive!
You’re welcome!
Winner!!!!!!!! Lurv lurv lurv it!
I wish my hair texture’s that fine to afford a short haircut
You are simply modelicious with your new cut!
Daphne: Thanks, thanks! Yea, it’s refreshing to have short hair, yeah? I’m glad you’re happy with yours!
Mel: What I want to see is you with long hair again! LOL.
Gloria: Baby China? Can’t say I’m familiar with it but that’s a very cute trivia about this cut. Heehee. Rico only saw the last bit of the cutting process. Twas already short when he arrived! LOL. But yea, he loves the new hair and his excitement matches mine. XD
Phoebe: Hug, hug, hug. XD
Sophie: Phoebe did say that it’s something you might not do — cut yours. Aw, thanks for the support! LOL.
I love the bob! I think a new/different haircut always makes us feel a liitle better about ourselves.
Thanks, Bridget! Have to agree with you there! It does make you feel better. Same way with shopping! LOL.
It suits you!!!
Good move!
Thanks, Toni! Twas hard to part with my long hair but knowing you guys like it makes having done it a whole lot easier to take.
Gah. How did I miss this? You didn’t post this on your personal blog, did ya?
Bet it’s all that Posh Spice lovin’ company you’re keeping.
Still enjoying the new ‘do?
Tis ok, no worries and no, I didn’t post it on my personal blog. Hehe. The ‘do needs a trim now. LOL.
