Shiseido ‘The Makeup’
Hydro-Powder Eye Shadow
When it comes to makeup application, the most I spend time on is eye makeup. Like what I mentioned during my Bento Beauty Project, I use several layers of colours, varied or monochromatic, to create simple shadows or the smoky eye look. I particularly like shimmers and the colours: green, lilac, copper, bronze and all shades of brown.
Discovering the new colours available at Shiseido increased my ardour for eye makeup. Can you blame me? They’re absolutely delightful. I love experimenting with colours. It certainly makes me feel utterly grateful that I know how to do eye makeup cuz, as far as I’ve observed, this is one of the areas in makeup that women find hard to learn.

These eye shadows create a glaze of intense color that shimmers from within. Cool to the touch, a dewy sensation spreads shadow evenly over eyelids to keep color moist and lustrous for a remarkably long time. Individual pots of color look brilliant alone or in combination.
It’s good if you learn how to combine colours cuz it’ll allow you to maximise your eye shadow pots. I love how Shiseido’s pots look, btw. They’re really adorable. And one of my concerns is the staying power of the eye makeup so based on the copy it sort of promises minimal re-touch, yeah? I reckon it’s best if I grab myself a pot one of these days. I’ll let you know if or when I do.
Before I go, if there’s one thing I’d tell you guys regarding eye makeup, it’s to never hesitate to ask somebody who knows how to do it. Let them show you how it’s done, ask questions during the demo and accept that what you know is mediocre compared to somebody experienced. This person doesn’t have to be a licensed beautician or a celebrity makeup artist (cuz let me tell you some of them pales in comparison to non-celebrity makeup artists).
Bento Beauty Tip: Always apply a base in the lightest shade of the eye makeup of your choice or shade closest to your skin tone before working on applying the colour contours.

i have shiseido hydro powder eye shadow in tiger eye. wonderful wonderful stuff. i discovered it two years ago and it’s been my eye make-up staple.
Good to know. I’ve always been partial to palettes but I’m looking into pots now esp since I’ve now learned how to do combos. Learning to live dangerously, that I am. LOL.
