Speaking of Makeup Meccas…

The London Telegraph published an article yesterday - Make-up Meccas, about the beauty halls in London department stores – that is interesting to read. They review several of them in London, but the information there is interesting to everyone who wants to know what is going on in the business, and what brands are winning the fight to be included. I bet it is a vicious fight….
From the Telegraph article:
The big test for department-store beauty halls these days is to accommodate a never-ending influx of new brands – a phenomenon that has caused some to morph into commercial temples where brand rivalry is so brutal it is palpable.
You could say that this is to be expected in an age when novelty and profit are king. But surely the challenge for beauty halls now is to give us the sense that we are being looked after while still managing to account for every square inch of counter space.

I can’t wait to vist these beauty halls in person!
I have an unrelated question for you that I hope you can blog about some time. I’m having issues with dryness under and around my eyes. I looked it up on the net and I guess this is some sort of condition and it was suggested I use eye cream. I bought some a few days ago, but it’s kind of a pain because I have to apply it a zillion times a day (neutrogena). I have some eucrin cream, which seems to work better and stay longer, but of course, it looks (and feels) like I have crisco under my eyes.
Could you recommend any good eye creams for this? I may actually have to break down and go to a doctor for this, just not sure if I need an eye doctor or a dermatologist. Ugh.
I’m coming to London to mecca with you, Hsien!
Tammy…I am getting ready to hiatus for Christmas, but will blog more about this when I get back. But, for now, if you do think it is a condition, you should probably see your doctor. A dermatologist is probably best, but a GP would probably help you out too. I would probably try a good eyecream (there are happy mediums between lotion and Crisco)…maybe try StriVectin (expensive) or good old Nivea’s eye cream. Let me know how it goes, ok?
Thanks! I’ll check those out. Yup, probably hve to go to the dang dermatologist. I’ve just been dreading that visit. I’ve got such fair skin. I know he’s going to have a field day with me!
Hey I know the feeling–fair skin does stink…but better a trip to the dermatologist than to have to go straight to the plastic surgeon like I did this time last year to get a skin cancer removed. Prevention is always better!! Let me know what they say….
