SWAC: Sealed with a Cure

I am a super-huge fan of the Purple Lab team, and am excited about anything new from them – because it’s always awesome.

So, when I got an email they were doing something new for October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month – I was all over it.

In the announcement, Purple Lab NYC “creatix” Karen Robinovitz tells the story of last year meeting new friends Malaak, Andrea, and Hayley who lost their good friend to Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a rare and aggressive subtype. Her friends went on to form the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundationsm to bring awareness to and support research for this subtype – it’s an amazing organization that Karen now is an avid believer in.

SWAC (Sealed with a Cure) was created by Purple Lab with this in mind: It’s a gorgeous pink sheen with subtle flecks of gold (real gold!!!). The color is called Nancy – the legacy of TNBCF – and it comes with a love note telling her personal story.

The gloss is formulated with all things for wellness and TLC – Echinacea, a purple cone flower that is used as an immune system booster; Mangosteens, a tropical superfruit, packed with antioxidants (it has a tangy, sweet flavor and it’s indigenous to the Sunda Islands and Indonesia and it happens to be Marc Jacobs’ favorite fruit – Karen said she heard him talking about it once when eavesdropping on a convo in his showroom!); Vanilla, the aroma therapy scent used for depression (Sloan Kettering happens to be the first medical organization that factualized the use of aroma therapy for medicinal purposes); and Vitamin C and E because if you’re going through chemotherapy, your lips get very dry.

It is soothing, nourishing, and absolutely delicious. Even if you are battling breast cancer, I want you to feel beautiful and express your femininity – so important when you’re fighting a disease that attacks the feminine part of us. So enjoy, pucker up, and think of Nancy and giving back to fight this disease and cure it… FOREVER!

I get tons and tons of pitches a day about BCA products – and most of them I think are just hog-wash for companies to exploit a disease to make money. But not in this case – I totally believe in this mission, as well as Karen and Purple Lab and everything they do – and I think the product looks pretty awesome too! So, please go buy it – it’s $18.50 – a pretty good price to look hot AND make a difference!
