Event: Oscar de la Renta and BagSnob in Dallas

I know I have a few fab Texans hanging around here, and now is one of those beneficial times to be hanging. My dear friend Tina Craig, over at BagSnob is hosting a lovely event THIS Thursday, at the Oscar boutique in the Northpark Center, this Thursday, March 27th, from 1-4 pm. Oscar de la Renta is sending his Fall 2008 bag collection to the boutique for an exclusive preview showing, and Tina is bringing champagne for this “Bags and Bubbly” event. How fun!

This is one of those times that I wish I hadn’t been traveling so much and could get my hiney 3 hours north. Will you go on my behalf and give Tina a big hug for me?

It is well worth noting that 5% of any bag sales made at this event will go to the Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas. Get yourself there if you can, it will be a great time, and will help an amazing cause. Read more about the event over at BagSnob.

Wanna Be A Handbag Designer?

This stuff is SO right up my alley – I wish I had more time. Or needed less sleep. My great friends over at Glam.com have teamed up with Marie Claire magazine a super nifty competition. You can submit your handbag designs to Glam.com and let the fashion community vote on their favorites.

Cool, but what do I win (you might ask…)? How does a trip to NYC, a one nighter at a “posh NY hotel” and you get to be a Marie Claire accessories editor-for-a-day. Your winning bag will be created, and 8 of them will be auctioned off for charity on eBay.

Sounds like fun – and a potential stepping stone for anyone who might be looking for one. Let me know if you submit – I sure don’t want to miss it!
