Exfoliate your legs first with soap or a scrub and using an exfoliating glove (these are the BEST). Use a fresh blade on whatever razor you love (always a good idea for infection prevention anyway). Shave a couple of times, in a couple of directions, using long, smooth strokes, and finally, follow up with a good body cream.

And do get this done professionally – if you use regular hair color at home, you take the risk of blinding yourself. Definitely not beautiful!

The cold weather closes my large pores tight and my pale skin is the norm of the winter. This is the time of year I can relax a little in my skin care; put away the self tanners and the scrubs, masks and peels and leave only the basics. I think, looking back, probably my favorite products have been discovered in the winter, just to be exchanged, when the heat of the day returns, for more combative products. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and eat the wonderful foods that the Earth gives to you, and take the time to build a snowman when you see some snow this year. Life is good.

Can you believe it is 2007? The rest of the world has been making resolutions, and I have been doing what I do best – putting off making them – but it’s time. Aside from the boring resolution which is perpetually on my list (keep a cleaner house – *snooze*), I have several resolutions that involve my health and beauty. I resolve to take my vitamins every day, to take at least a short walk every day, and to wash my face every single night before bed. No being lazy and skipping washing my face any more. Oh, and drink 8 glasses of water every day. Is that too much? I don’t think so. I try to do those things anyway, but never fail to leave at least one of them off the list. What have you resolved to do better this year?

Hopefully you have your shopping done and are busy with not much more than eating your way through the holiday treats made by you and your loved ones. A good thing to do over the next week is to make room for Santa by digging through your beauty drawers and cabinets and using up the last of your favorite things – you know, the stuff that you love so much and hate to use the last of because it will then be gone. A good thing to do over the next week is to make room for Santa by digging through your beauty drawers and cabinets and using up the last of your favorite things – you know, the stuff that you love so much and hate to use the last of because it will then be gone. Surely I am not the only one who does that. While you’re cleaning out, don’t forget to get rid of old foundation and mascara – nobody wants pink eye for Christmas. Eww. Plus, new mascara fits nicely in Christmas stockings. Here’s hoping you have a MOST wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah! Be sure and let me know what Santa brought you this year!
