Allure Backstage: Hottest Beauty Trends

This should be a fantastic show tonight, airing at 9pm on the Style Network. Linda Wells, esteemed editor in chief of Allure Magazine will be touching on all the hot trends from the runways. I am hoping this is Spring looks rather than Fall, but either way, it should be most interesting – don’t forget to tune in!

The Must Have Mini-Mascara: Bourjois Mini Volume Glamour.

As a follow-up to their extremely popular Mobile High Shine Lip Gloss Cell Phone Accessory, Bourjois has a new addition to their wonderful line up of beauty accessories. This is their Mini Volume Glamour Ultra Black Mascara.

With a handy clip, you can simply attach this mascara to your cell phone, or even handbag. What a better way to keep a mascara handy without taking up space inside your bag. It looks very cute too!
The mascara formula itself is enriched with Vitamin B5 for extreme volume. And just because the tube is mini, does not mean that the brush …read more

HairZing Demo and Review

HairZing Demo and Review

I spend my whole life growing out my hair, I think. I love to wear it short and I love it long, so I am always transitioning to one style or another. So, I am growing out now, from this, which was my spring ‘do, to – well, I don’t quite know yet. I have been lusting lately over Gene Simmon’s wife, Shannon Tweed’s, hair – it really is gorgeous – see (and, ahem, Gene isn’t looking so bad after all that surgery either, eh?)?  I always cut it off before it makes it that long though.  …read more

Elle’s Top 5 Self Tanners

Sadly, I haven’t tried most of these yet (with the exception of the Dove Energy Glow, which is GREAT), but am so pleased with my GlowFusion spray tanner, I just can’t bear to go back to lotions and worrying about scrubbing my hands without getting the lotion off the top of my hands (not a big deal with the Dove). But I realize that not everyone is so obsessed with spray tanning, and isn’t going to run out to buy a $175 tanner (is that crazy?), so here is a very useful list from the June issue
of Elle …read more

Beauty Beat: Silver Spring

Silver is smoking hot for the spring! You can have lots of fun with silver in your makeup kit without spending a fortune. Try a new silver nail polish, eye shadow, eyeliner or even lipstick to take part. The key to looking up to date without looking like a tin can is subtlety. Try a gorgeous silvery smoky eye with a more subtle lip color. Polish your nails with a silver polish and dab just a touch of silver eye shadow on the center of your lower lip for a pouty and up to date look without overdoing it. Also, …read more

Great Microdermabrasion from Skin Nutrition with Phytomins Refining Face Polish

Great Microdermabrasion from Skin Nutrition with Phytomins Refining Face Polish

Just like the skin care gadgets, I am always on the hunt for great microdermabrasion-type of products. I have a feeling if I actually went and got a microdermabrasion treatment at the dermatologist, I would be in for a much different treatment, but so far I am good, and the home products suit me fine. What makes a good microdermabrasion cream, to me, are the texture and the density of the grains that abrade your face – I like them very fine and very plentiful. If there are too few and they are too big, I categorize it as more …read more

Beauty Beat: Natural Beauty

There are a huge number of personal care products that claim to be natural, but are they? Currently, these products are not regulated in the U.S or the E.U. – they may contain less than 10% natural ingredients and almost none are 100% natural. How do you know what you are getting and if it is worth the extra money you are paying – you do know you ARE paying extra money, right? You read the ingredient label. Since “natural” is such a hot selling term, you need to know what you are getting. …read more
