Free Lip Love at Bath and Body Works

I am thrilled – there’s nothing I enjoy more than a gift with purchase!
If you stop by Bath & Body Works – any one of their stores!– this weekend, you will receive a free lip item (up to a $7.50 value) with any purchase! Doesn’t matter what you buy!
You can’t take advantage of this offer online, sadly, but just print and redeem this printable coupon any time before 8/30. How fabulous is that???
Personally, I’d make my free item the Liplicious Pomegranate/Brown Sugar Lip Color and Sugar Scrub – it’s normally $12, but is currently on sale for $4 – which …read more

More on the Importance of Sunblock

More on the Importance of Sunblock

So, last night I blogged about the incredible importance of sun protection.
Roughly 12 hours later, here I am, blogging from the beach.
Clearly, one would think I would follow my own advice. Especially since the OCD in me led me to take my computer TO the beach, where said advice is readily available.
That said, I am wearing sunblock, at least.
I’m scared to death of skin cancer. I am super pale, and have at least one questionable mole I’ve been living in blissful ignorance about; but let’s be honest here–melanoma, sun spots, wrinkles, burns are no joking matter.
That said, they are no …read more

Bliss Fat Girl Scrub

I’m going to the beach this weekend, and to Montauk in a few weeks – clearly I will be showing a lot of skin!
Sadly, nightly martinis have made me very much not prepared for all this, and I am a little apprehensive.
Granted, I will not develop a perfect body overnight, but I’m getting started with Bliss Fat Girl Scrub.
It is helping to promote circulation through exfoliation and massage, which in turn is going to help reduce the accumulation of stagnant fluids that contribute to lumps and bumps. (i.e. jelly butt!)
So, my contours are being enhanced, and I will look hot …read more

LaLicious and all their delicious flavors

Lately, I’ve been discovering the LaLicious line of bath and body products, and my skin is super-happy to be acquainted. There’s a bunch of flavors, and each one smells sort of like dessert. (Which explains that name…)
My favorite would be the vanilla/brown sugar body scrub – but everything is made with this awesome whipped technique that includes coconut oil and oodles of vitamins and minerals -but anyway, since I’ve been testing their line, my skin is baby smooth and all those evil winter rough spots are disappearing before my eyes!

Send Off Gift: Swiss & Shiatsu Massage

As a way to send me off to Vietnam and Cambodia, teh boyfriend had scheduled a bit of relaxation time for us, as a couple, with a bit of a massage at WM Medical Spa.
He’s been frequenting this place to get his regular dose of massage and has been suggesting that I’d give it a go. I’m not particularly fond of massages, all due to the fact that I’m pretty averse to having some stranger touch me (even people whom I know actually). But since I’ve been complaining about backaches and neck strains, I finally decided to give in and …read more

Sarah Michelle Gellar for Vaseline

Vaseline has a new image model, Sarah Michelle Gellar. The brand is more widely known for their hand and body care products. Gellar will now carry the “smooth skin” mantra.
Here in my country (Philippines), they’ve made quite a name for themselves in their hair care line, Vaseline Shampoo.
Here’s a sample of an old Vaseline advert with Heart Evangelista: (note, dialogue in Filipino)

Kinerase Multi-Vitamins Minerals and Nutrients

Since the beginning of this year (and a few days before that) I’ve started on my multi-vits and vitamin E. This is all for the purpose of getting myself fit (for the summer especially, hehe) and to get a healthier skin since I am not getting any younger.
I’ve noticed a lot of changes since I started and one of them is my body clock. I actually sleep a lot and at the right time. I’m awake in the morning and asleep at night. I do feel tired a lot lately but I reckon it’s due to the fact that my …read more

Guava on Your Skin

Korres Natural Products
Guava Body Butter
What it is:
A divinely rich, guava-scented smoothing cream for dry elbows, heels, and knees.
What it is formulated to do:
The emollient balm can also be used over the entire body, preferably onto warm, damp skin, after bathing to lock-in moisture.
This may be synthetic and the glorified version of the Guava treatment on the skin but I reckon it’s a start. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, well, here in my country we have this practice wherein we use Guava on the skin. I’ll save further explanation on the treatment for a later post.
I recommend creams or …read more
